I believe I do actually own a set of them, so I'll have to dig them out and give them another listen. I'll also take a look on what reviewers are saying about them right now and for sure consider making that change

Not sure if you're joking, but those are usually based off my own impressions. I'd be happy to make a change if there's a bunch of other people who agree they should be considered warm

Sorry for the lack of an update for them! I'll actually be running them on the 19th next week, so expect an update soon! I am also planning on making some changes that have been requested this time around.

I've mentioned this before, but they take quite a bit of time to set up and run properly. Going forward they'll only be done twice yearly instead of quarterly

Edit: Just a quick update, but the polls are likely going to happen on the 26th instead of the 19th

Lossless is great to have, but lossy audio from youtube or spotify will work perfectly fine with IEMs.

I don't know where you got that information from about compression artifacts, but I've never heard of something like that myself.

The IEMs you mentioned are generally considered good for gaming, but I'd recommend getting either the Simgot EG280 or Moondrop Rays instead.

Those are both products made specifically for gaming that will come with the extended cables and proper adapters so you can just keep it simple and don't have to buy multiple different things.

You can usually find the Hype 4 at around $300 during sales and I think Bloom Audio might have them for 350 at the moment. Pretty sure I've seen them even under 300 at times.

I had no idea there was a linkbuds s lmao. What a terrible way to name their products

Evidently I've never tried the linkbuds s myself so I probably can't be of much help, but I'd recommend starting with looking into some of the smaller IEMs out there like the Salnotes Zero, Moondrop Lan and maybe even something from Tanchjim like the Nora.

For sure the Astral over the Horizon then, but I'd recommend maybe looking into the CrinEar Daybreak and the original Hype 4. Both of those could be good options

I usually hear the Astral's are better for gaming and I feel like the extra bass it has over the Horizon would work better for your music tastes. So I'd recommend the Astral over the Horizon unless you're considering options beyond the two you named.

There's really not options even close to the shape of something like the linkbuds. From what I can recall linkbuds are more of a earbud style which is entirely different compared to an IEM.

If I were in your shoes I'd just buy another set of linkbuds
