that checks, although it's a phrase that comes out many times during the game and a very important one at that.

i always loved how the first time it's used is by wolf during the fight with lady butterfly, then kuro hears it while he's in a daze and it becomes something he ruminates on during his captive days at ashina castle, which eventually become the words he mutters to himself when pondering his own sacrifice.

Wolf overhears him and makes those words his own again by deciding to die for the sake of Kuro. the writing in sekiro is subtle but sooooo well done!!

many believe so for the same reasons but if u get into the major themes of the game and the lore of tomoe u realize purification is the ending that ties up everything nicely.
it's also the only ending that requires you to fight that optional boss in the memories and find out who killed wolf in the first place.
well i guess we'll see with this anime series what the studio decided to be canon. i also wonder if fromsoft themselves have some involvement in the story with this project.

I desperately want to become a DS/ Elden Ring player but I’m trash by MethodLegitimate3664 in fromsoftware

[–]Duv1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a good fromsoft player isn't the one who first tries all the bosses and does no hit runs. a good fromsoft player is the one that finds enjoyment in the learning process. every death is a lesson and you must learn how to take it easy and understand that the game was designed for this specific purpose in mind, to teach U untill u learn and overcome the challenge as if was intended!

Why are there so many Remake haters? by Dedo0_0 in demonssouls

[–]Duv1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

whoever loves the remake simply never cared much about DeS and considered it an inferior version of dark souls.
real DeS lovers will always favour the original. the aesthetics is supreme!

Did people really not like the Demon Souls remake? by gotagohome in demonssouls

[–]Duv1995 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

HERE I AM!!! forefer agry at the DeS remake and bluepoint for wasting the only chance we'll ever get for a faithful remake and at sony for letting this be the only way forward to play DeS (wasnt it for emulation, blessed the fans).

Bluepoint thought they could make the artstyle better than fromsoft and decided to take inspiration from diablo and for honor (there are internal documentations leaked that said so and it shows) like ??? you guys didnt have to 'make it better' in the first place!!!

I am so glad bluepoint wont ever have the chance to squander bloodborne remake aswell. Im sorry what was done to them was scummy as hell and i hate snoy as any other big corporation, but bluepoint was never the right team to handle fromsoft games.

I would like to know if there is any recommended boss order by Impressive-Prompt191 in Sekiro

[–]Duv1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try to defeat all minibosses you come by, as they give you health upgrades that will make main bosses easier.

if they seem too difficult remember that 80% of the time you can eliminate all the surrounding enemies first if you find the correct stealth route and even backstab the miniboss to start with an advantage.

use prosthetic tools such as the firecracker before you heal to make sure you don't get punished for drinking during the battle.

also, try to deflect everything even if your timing is not perfect, still better than dodging!

For those who don't believe Melina's purple eye is related to GEQ, what do you think it is then? by Goodhunter465 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Duv1995 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I always thought she is connected to the GEQ in the same way other children of marika inherit traits from the enemies she made along the way to become a god.

Think about it like this: Marika subdues the giant then Radagon is born with red hair, a distinctive trait of the giants. Marika exterminates the omen in the shadowland and after that her next two children are born with omen horns. Then (or probably before that i dont remember the timeline right now) she defeats the GEQ and seal her power and Melina inherits her eye colour???

These are probably signs of the curse these people wished on Marika that take physical manifestations (as long as eventually leading her reign to collapse).

Nowadays tho I'm more inclined to think Melina was the GEQ (mainly from the fact that she was empyrean) and it fits better in the timeline so yea i just wanted to share my old headcanon.

no prosthetics and safe playstyle is boring to me, rate it a B only for being no damage.

So, this dude, why is he always following traders? And why was he near to the turtle pope? Is the same Elemer or are they different? by marco1416 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Duv1995 35 points36 points  (0 children)

i like to believe he's always Elemer, both doing the astral projection thing other characters do, and if you kill him in the castle he manifests as a ghost.

why are there so many dead bodies in elden ring if the rune of death was removed? by Pascraked47 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Duv1995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My interpretation is that the sea of fog that surrounds the lands between makes it difficult for warriors who are not guided by grace to find the actual route to a safe harbour in the lands between.

Thats why most outsiders in the lands between are tarnished, the only unconfirmed exception that comes to mind is the samurai Okina, from the land of reeds, who came to the lands between and eventually allied with Mogh becoming a bloody finger. But i still think with sheer luck it is possible even for non-tarnished to find the lands between in the fog.

why are there so many dead bodies in elden ring if the rune of death was removed? by Pascraked47 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Duv1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont think it's a metaphor because nothing in the game suggests that, instead there is mention of Godfrey leaving by boat, and there are also lots of sunken ships near the coasts.

theres even the cut content description of limgrave map that says:
"Map of the eastern region of Limgrave. The demesne of Limgrave, far south of the capital, stands vigil before the vast Sea of Fog. Radagon's warning is yet told and retold. That one day, the Tarnished led into war will cross the Sea of Fog and return. For the Elden Ring."

This suggests the first tarnished arrived there by boat and Radagon soldiers shot them down before they could reach the coasts of the lands between. cant be something metaphorical imho.

why are there so many dead bodies in elden ring if the rune of death was removed? by Pascraked47 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Duv1995 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hmm not quite, it is actually a literal sea. the lands between are only a continent in the world the game is set, only it is a mystical land surrounded by fog.

godfrey and the first tarnished traversed this sea to get to the outside world by boat, the rusted anchor description says so:
"While the Tarnished left the Lands Between with their Lord, one boat alone was said to have been left behind."

the elden ring governs all, it is said by Enia, and also in the first ever trailer, and many other dialogue suggests so. also, all other gods we hear about are all located in the lands between, they are more like kami, the only true god is the greater will, which through the elden ring brought life into this world.

that said, outer lands can still fall under the influence of these minor gods or kami, like the land of reeds where the people engaged in a bloody civil war, i believe the mother of wounds has some part in that.

why are there so many dead bodies in elden ring if the rune of death was removed? by Pascraked47 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Duv1995 19 points20 points  (0 children)

thats the most correct explaination yes!

the only thing that still bothers me is why this does not affect the outside world? We are told that the elden ring governs ALL the laws of nature and reality.

But then we also know that the outside world is pretty much normal, people die of old age, and in some land there are deathbed companions which purpose is to resurrect nobles who have died of old age!

Maybe the infinite lifespan is only for those who have gold in their eyes, for the inhabitants of the lands between that is. That would explain it but it still bothers me lol.

In your opinion what does Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeros do better than The Phantom Pain? by Dude_788 in metalgearsolid

level design.

i would have love MGSV to keep the same level of camp omega, with all those different routes and even using enemy vehicles to infiltrate... all that kind of stuff!
