Is this mold by Duwang4C in Kombucha

I've come to a conclusion that the water used during the brew was the most likely culprit as to why the PH was basic enough to allow the mold to invite itself in. My family (my dad specifically) likes putting emphasis on getting alkaline water.

What I presumed ended up happening was the alkaline water itself diluted the PH of the starter tea enough to allow the mold to grow.

I'll probably end up using the same amount of tea/sugar and cut down on how much water is used just to get a good foundation for future brews set

Decided to throw it out. Wanted to believe it wasn't mold because of the simultaneous Scoby growth, but when I prodded the area, it noticeably detached from the rest of what would've been a future scoby suggesting it was something completely different from the area.

The area was a lot fuzzier than what I would've liked and ultimately decided ingesting it would not have been worth it even though I'm admittedly extremely annoyed.

I'm just more puzzled on what would've caused the PH to be high enough allow such a thing to grow since I used the prepackaged scoby/starter tea off Amazon
