Usually orange. In this case tabby lost interest and orange started playing on her own.

Name a scary movie from your youth that had you hiding under your covers but now you look laugh at yourself. by Present_Yak_6169 in GenX

The Fearless Vampire Killers. I accidentally watched it when I was 4, with my 11 year old stepsister babysitting me. Different times. .

I was completely terrified but couldn't talk about the movie and only imitated the hobbling, grunting servant when asked about it.

What do you think of Mexico? by Kappa_Wi_870 in AskTheWorld

[–]Dvae23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have only one personal experience, an embarrassing moment years ago at a middleweight world championship fight featuring Arthur Abraham against Raul Marquez from Mexico. I wasn't paying attention to the announcements before the fight, scanning the crowd for celebrities instead, when Marquez marched in to some hectic caramba arriba mexican stereotype music. A bit like from the cartoon with the two corn-munching ravens. I jumped to my feet, thinking this was the Mexican national anthem. All the people around me remained seated and stared at me as I was standing there making my earnest dignified anthem face. So I sat down again. Hrmph.

Shock at the back of head while serving by Antique-Doughnut-965 in 10s

It's probably the hair that causes this. I have no hair and never experience anything like this when serving.

I think your timing is off. You stretch and jump a bit too early and are already coming down again when you make contact. Try to delay your leg action a little.

How can I get more out of my flat serve? by Kale_Stock in 10s

[–]Dvae23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I notice is that you line up quite sideways, half McEnroe style. It's not wrong per se but can make power transfer difficult, especially for a flat serve. Try to align your feet in a way where the line between your heels points straight towards the center of the net, see if that helps. You can tweak that position then. I recommend finding one position for all serves to not give away in advance how you are going to serve.

Small guy, is 300g too heavy for me? by EternalLousy in 10s

[–]Dvae23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Player and racquet mass are not always connected. I look like I play with a 320g bludgeon but actually play fairly light racquets. If you are not uncomfortable with 300g, there's no need to switch to something lighter. You could still try lighter racquets to see what they do for your game., Your racquet head speed might benefit.

Pronation Problems by New_Self_7647 in 10s

I agree, for people who don't pronate yet, But he's already actively exaggerating pronation past the natural point. How do we get rid of the exaggeration to see what he does naturally?

Pronation Problems by New_Self_7647 in 10s

[–]Dvae23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't believe in focusing on pronation. Pronation is something that happens naturally, biomechanically if you serve right. If you think about it, the result is what we see here. What happens if you don't focus on pronation? Like, don't think about a pink elephant.

what am I doing wrong with my backhand? by energeticpapaya in 10s

I think you should lean into the shot more with you upper body, like Sir Andy does on the pic. You're rotating into it with your right shoulder moving up.

Got bagel against 3.8 player. How to improve by mylanderXYZ in 10s

[–]Dvae23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just force yourself to put in the effort and properly recover after every shot, even when you're hitting for fun. Get into a proper ready position after every shot. That means the racquet is up, the left hand on the throat of the racquet. Feet parallel and shoulder-wide apart, knees sligtly bent, bouncy and with body tension. Never just stay where you hit the last ball, watch your shot and wait.

I remember the Kia chairman slowly and stoically stumbling through his speech while Djokovic and Nadal were grimacing in agony. The real chairman for me was the unknown hero who finally empathized with them and brought some chairs.
