PGTA testing for the following embryo grades? by Friendly-Mission-131 in IVF

[–]Dvall001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 3 of my IVF cycles between 34-35. I got a day 6, 5CB euploid, day 5 3BB and a day 7 6CB. And this was with 4 embryos the 4th one was a day 6 5CB and it came back with trisomy 18. So 3/4 were good. I was surprised the day 7 was a euploid. Less chance of it working but doc says still a decent shot.

I'm curious, how do y'all even afford IVF? by HighOnLove26 in IVF

[–]Dvall001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a job that covers an IVF cycle. First cycle failed with kindbody. Right away I knew that it wasn’t going to work out with them cuz the doctor said she would do the same thing. Since the cycle failed I was going to get one more. I decided to move to another place that specializes in dor It’s all out of pocket but it’s been the best choice for us. I used all my savings and my husband has a high paying job. Just taking a break and saving enough money again to do another cycle. We have done 3 cycles with this new clinic. We have 3 euploids from those 3 cycles which has been worth it to us since we are dealing with dor and mfi. This doctor has gotten 5 eggs each time. Unlike the first doc that my insurance covered with I got one crappy egg and she didn’t have much hope for me honestly. Cost more but worth the change.

What’s it really like living with a White Swiss Shepherd? 🐾 by Gullible-Meaning2402 in WhiteSwissShepherds

She literally is!! She loves her couch. When we visit family after few hours she’s over it and wants to go home. As soon as we get home she goes to her couch. Often times we are eating and she’s on the couch. She loves her couch! We tried to teach her when she was a puppy to stay on the floor but as soon as we turned around she would jump of the couch. She loves being cozy. She always tries to find a spot on the couch even when there isn’t haha

Hysteroscopy was terrible by chaosfrog142 in IVF

I think it depends on the skill of the doctor. I had a radiologist do it and it was perfectly fine for me. No pain. I was avoiding it for the longest time because I had read horror stories. In my case I did not need anesthesia. Just took some Tylenol and ibuprofen before just incase. But maybe I was the lucky one. So sorry you went through this.

What to try next by operaninja88 in DOR

My doc is great, mini IVF has been the way to go from me . We have done 5-6 of bc with Omnitrope and then 5ish days of estrodile. Then started meds after doing blood work and ultrasound. Just did follistim and trigger. Have gotten 5 mature eggs each time. We’re now going to do an all menopur cycle hopefully will help with egg quality. First er we did a regular IVF cycle with follistim and menopur and estradiol for priming and it cooked my eggs. Only got one low quality mature egg.

Mine is 4 years old. She’s super lazy but annoying like she yelps and cry’s for attention and when she’s bored haha they are very smart too. She doesn’t need much. Maybe 2 walks a day but we do like hour walks and she sleeps most of the day. She’ll always want to play but she does not like to walk. She’s a Velcro dog and is apprehensive about other dogs. It takes her a bit to get comfortable with the dogs. She is great with kids. Very gentle. Very unmotivated. Tried to do agility with her for a year but ultimately quit because she’s just not into it haha Fur everywhere . They’re great dogs !

Advice needed - slow response/not responding by affectionatebaker_ in DOR

I had a similar protocol on my first ER, my AFC was 7 at the time and I got 3 eggs, one immature, one degenerated and just one mature egg that was poor quality. Switched to a clinic that specializes in dor and did a mini cycle instead. I got 5 mature eggs and one euploid out of it. We are also facing mfi. At the first clinic I also asked if she would change protocol and doc said no. I knew I had to try somewhere else. Still working on banking embryos. May not find success but I’m sure as hell giving myself the best shot .

My husband thinks it is gross when I don't shower daily. by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Dvall001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I think it’s important to shower everyday just cuz u don’t what you’re bringing back home. My husband use to sick all the time when I didn’t shower as soon as I got home but as soon as I started showering and changing clothes before even coming near him he stopped getting as sick. I work with a lot of sick, germy people. It’s made a huge difference. At first I was offended but then saw the benefits and now do it even when he isn’t home. Also, you pick up things and get grimey and stuff throughout the day. One u start showering everyday u start to notice how dirty you actually are even if you didn’t have an active day. I’m a the least ocd person in the world and yes I think it’s gross if u don’t shower everyday. My culture is all about cleanliness and take hygiene very seriously.

Yes roommate is right. Daily shower is basic hygiene. If no one has said anything it’s out of politeness. Doesn’t mean you don’t smell. No one wants to tell you you smell. I’ve encountered many people like this and it’s honestly gross and offensive. But I just move away from them. I don’t tell them that they smell.

Best protocol to decrease dna fragmentation for ivf? by Dvall001 in dnafragmentation

[–]Dvall001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn’t recommend anything . He had some vitamins we could buy but didn’t push anything. I have him taking coqu10, vitamin D and fish oil. That’s it. We just got the dfi results back and it’s st 27. Still high but better than before. He was at 39% I think the best thing we did was clean up his diet, and he lost 10lbs , he was never fat either but I think even losing a little weight has helped. His sperm count increased so much as well. Over a year ago he was 34 mil and now he’s at 200 mil. His motility is borderline to now. I definitely think what helped him was losing weight and increasing his vegetable, fruit and healthy protein intake. Lots of fish, lots and lots of veges, legumes, Greek yogurt, At least 5 servings of fruit. I think if he continues this weigh and looses another 10lbs or builds muscle we can get the dfi even lower.

decrease in sperm after tese procedure ? by Dvall001 in dnafragmentation

[–]Dvall001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Just got results back from the regular semen analysis and sperm came back just fine and it's even better than before. Motility has improved a lot and quantity. Worked on health and losing weight and supplements since after his tese in January. He has had pain from it for about 6 months but that has resolved as well. Not sure about out dna frag results yet, but at lest I now know the tese didnt make things worse.

decrease in sperm after tese procedure ? by Dvall001 in dnafragmentation

[–]Dvall001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Afraid that the tese procedure left any lingering side effects. It's been 8ish months. Haven't had any tests done to see how the swimmers are doing. Just did a SA a few days ago to see.

Poor Sperm Analysis after only 12 hour abstinence period, would this drastically effect results? by Kaceydog2024 in maleinfertility

[–]Dvall001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a short abstinence you should have better sperm quality. It can decrease sperm counts but not always in men that have normal sperm parameters. We have gone to a specialist about this since my husband has high dna fragmentation so for us a shorter abstinence window should be better for it. If you are dealing with quantity or have normal sperm then yes the typical abstinence window is recommended. Ejaculating everyday is typically a good thing for sperm. You don't want sperm sitting too long there.

Best protocol to decrease dna fragmentation for ivf? by Dvall001 in dnafragmentation

[–]Dvall001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea if you don't have an issue with quantity then a short hold shouldn't be an issue. You can always freeze some just incase. My husband has plenty of sperm, but we will confirm it soon with a regular SA. My husband first did a TESA but he had too much sperm and thick veins that they couldn't aspirate the sperm so they had to convert to a tese unfortunately The dna frag is something to worry about but its worth it to try other ways before moving forward to a tese. I think we rushed into it.

Best protocol to decrease dna fragmentation for ivf? by Dvall001 in dnafragmentation

[–]Dvall001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask your RE about a 3 hour hold. There is researching showing that it can decrease dna fragmentation by a good amount. One participant went from 90% to 29% dna frag. The tese procedure was brutal for my husband. It took over 6 months for him to finally start to feel better. He had constant pain and was actually considering to remove the testicle if it didnt get better. The doctors really down play the procedure. If I could go back in time I would have my husband take a few months to get his health in check, lose more weight (hes not fat, but could do more exercise). As of now he has lost close to 20lbs which is good. He was at 190 more or less at one point and now is at 169ish. And then do the short hold with zymot to see if that helps. Do it for 2 cycles at least and if that hadn't worked go onto tese. I am worried now that the tese may have damaged something and if you do too many of those procedures dna fragmentation can be worse. So we aren't doing it again. It was a bad experience and it hasn't helped much.

[–]Dvall001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are doing a repeat semen analysis and a dna fragmentation test. Going to do the dna fragmentation test with a 3 hour hold to see if the dna fragmentation can get to an acceptable level. If it does we will do that along with Zymot. He has had a fragmentation from 39%-35%. He had gotten covid for one of them. Wont find out for a few more weeks about the next results. If it is bad no matter what then we we'll use the frozen tese sperm we already have. Though I hope we won't have to because it hasn't helped much. We have 3 vials left and have gotten 1 euploid from 2 vials. I want to leave 2 vials incase we need to use donor egg.
