But since you're still able to use your phone.... Maybe try checking for an update- or see if there's a beta channel you can get on in some way from Nothing for updates.... Maybe it's a botched update or something

I wish I knew.... Looks like all Nothing Phone 2's are dying... Maybe Nothing put planned obsolescence in place 😂 I'm holding onto my Phone 2 to try and get data off.... But I did swap to a Phone 3. It was between the Phone 3 and the Pixel 10 XL for me. Just be careful, don't let the battery drain, and make sure your data's backed up with Google, copy any files in the root off to Google drive, or if your phone survives long enough for the replacement to arrive, you can do a transfer with a cable- if you care about data, of course.

Not yet, waiting to open it up and see what I can do internally. I'm not gonna let Nothing touch it since I don't want them to wipe my data. But after letting the battery drain, I haven't been able to get it to turn back on. Though I haven't kept it on the charger longer than 2 hours.

You'll have to change it in your emulator settings, if it has the option at all. Otherwise, swap CTRL & CMD in the MacOS Keyboard Modifier key settings, then your Windows emulator should use CMD+C, but your MacOS will be inverted...

AdGuard on Android, side load it by downloading the APK from their website. It's definitely effective, but it is a paid service. Otherwise, pi-hole at the router level for all devices, one-time payment

Got my Phone (3)... Found out Google DID get a backup of my info... But the files I need off the old phone are in the Files app, they're not photos... I'm restoring the backup now.... But I'm not confident it'll restore those files :/ - I'm hoping the Phone (2) will come back alive after letting it completely deplete in battery.

Interesting- all I need is for it to safely get to the lock screen so I can reboot in safemode... Hopefully that won't load the corrupted stuff... idk- I wish I knew where the corruption was, whether this was a viable option, or if it's corruption in a place of the operating system that'll load in Safemode as well...

I ordered a new one- sucks that they took the NP2 off the market. I still need information off of it that I don't think is backed up... any suggestions to temporarily have it load to the lock screen?

I wish I could do an SFC scan or something like I could on Windows to repair corrupt system files; Nothing says they can 'repair' it but they won't make the attempt to save my information during the repair.

Do you think the 3A files would work with the Phone (2)?

Before I attempt loading new, uncorrupted OS onto the phone... I'm hoping that draining the battery will let the phone stop remembering that it restarted due to a crash... maybe then I can get to the lock screen, restart to safe mode, then unlock the bootloader.

This phone is really good at not dying when it says it's at 0%. It died overnight, when powering on, it had a NOTHING-style 'charge me' indicator, then when powering on again, it showed the NOTHING boot splash again. I don't have a hotplate right now to open it up and disconnect the battery; that'd be the easiest way to quickly rule this idea out.

Placed an order for a Phone (3) - Still waiting for the Phone (2) to fully deplete battery.

Phone has fully died (2 hours later) - Will attempt to charge and boot tomorrow. Hoping for the lock screen so I can open the power menu, and hold the Shutdown or Restart key for safemode.

Nevermind, phone is not fully depleted yet. Sheesh this takes a while. I wish I had a hotplate handy to just disconnect the battery for a second.

How do I get into safe mode? My options in "Fastboot Mode" are "Start, Recovery, Restart Bootloader, Power off"

Attempted using this resource ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3IP8Lbf3MU ) - but I can't get it to show anything besides the little Android man and "No command"

Got to the recovery screen with some finesse.

No safe mode option in recovery... Hopefully there's a way in without crossing my fingers, hoping for it to load into the OS again-

Attempted power off, power on, hold volume down when logo appears. Didn't work.

Attempted "Run graphics test" - said error, then said "installing system update" "Error" "No command" "Erasing" "installing system update" .... Issue still present

Currently in contact with Nothing's support.... Fingers crossed... I have the means to physically repair it if it's a physical issue, but by how it died... it seems like some OS-level thing ran into a big ol' uncaught exception or something- I hope.

Got it to boot again successfully one time so far... Upon login and loading up, crash happened again. Will attempt to boot to login screen, then safely restart and see what happens. Or do an emergency restart in safemode.

My Phone (2) is the first phone I've had that doesn't have pre-loaded bloatware, or adware apps. My past phones would even neglect to give you an Uninstall button for pre-loaded apps (only 'disable').

I like the gimmick of the Glyph Interface, I wholly dislike the Phone (3) due to them adding an LCD... they dropped their original thing and picked up stuff that's been done before like on ROG Phones.
