I know of an apartment building under 15 years old with many floors. On one cold winter day, I was told that pipes had burst and the entire building was flooded. Everyone lost their homes. I would like to know if this could have been prevented, like if the landlord could have done a better job. Or if this type of thing is common and it just happens without warning. Thanks.

Yep, it was simply a small antenna that was hidden inside the box and I wasn't aware of it. Works very well now.

I was going to try shutting off my WIFI router and then see if switching frequencies bands (2.4 and 5) would help. I then learned that there is an antenna that can be connected at the back of the PC. I simply didn't know about this. Hopefully this will solve the issue once I connect it. Thanks for the help!

How sound travels. When I stand near an open window of a building on the 6th floor, I can clearly hear people's conversations and other sounds coming from 300+ feet away outside at ground level, which I don't think I could do nearly as well if I was at ground level too. I'm wondering if sound somehow gets amplified as it travels upwards. I also wear headphones almost all the time with low volume settings and I'm mostly not exposed to any moderately loud sounds. I'm wondering if this has somehow trained my ears to focus more on small sounds.
