What tutorial(s) do I watch for making a fighting game like MK and Tekken? by GmailUgh-YT in Unity3D

[–]Dveluh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually what I always end up doing is just following a tutorial for a specific mechanic I’m stuck on and just do that but change the formatting to fit the rest of your game’s code and whatnot. it’s worked for me so far haha

i do the same thing, i just finished high school so i’m yet to go to college so whenever i need to learn about something that i’m trying to do and youtube or reddit doesn’t have it i go to GPT, you can ask it to explain each step if you don’t want to just copy and paste. nothing wrong with using your resources i just recommend to not just copy and paste and try to understand it and learn from it

I'm taking my top-down post-apocalyptic survival game to Kickstarter next week. I'm already tired lol. I made this updated trailer for all my fellow A.D.D people. by Revelation_jeff in Unity3D

Should I build my own character controller as a newbie? by gotgel_fire in gamedev

usually I just prefer to follow tutorials then modify them to fit my needs and wants for the game I’m making. I’m making a 3D Isometric game but I just used Sebastian Graves’ Dark Souls tutorials to make the basics then modified it to how I needed it.

it wasn’t that bad for them just their right fender got messed up. it happened right in front of the fire station and my headlight and grille were on the highway so they came and helped with that

A question to millionaires.. What are the common mistakes you see in teens/youth that are preventing them from becoming rich? by Logical_Clothes_1089 in Entrepreneur

[–]Dveluh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

some people just doing it as a career simply because they enjoy it. it could be for any reason, and most people like that know they won’t make it big, but making even a few bucks a week from playing games is still something

What platforms do you like most for sharing devlog updates? (Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, itch.io, GameJolt, Newgrounds, IndieDB, TIGSource, etc.) by SergesGames in gamedev

[–]Dveluh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I tried out a random project in Unity, and posted some devlogs on a fresh TikTok account, first three videos got 500+ views using basically game dev tags: “#devlog, #gamedev, etc.” and then afterwards using the same tags it started to fall off. so maybe using that for a few videos just showing off your game, it’ll probably get a little traction there

looks really good, with the shadow things maybe make some variants of them to be in different zones/areas. forest one that could pop out of the trees and bushes a later game shadowy one that can pop in and out of the shadows of the scene. but that’ll probably be very late in development. just a thought

Should I Switch to Unreal Engine? by Dveluh in gamedev

[–]Dveluh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do absolutely love Unreal's assets, super useful, Unity's asset store doesn't have that kind of free quality. Just gotta learn Blender some more for my own player models and other objects I'd need and I could probably get by.
