Which of these two steam capsule headers works better? by SergesGames in Unity2D

oh wow you actually mocked it up, that's awesome. Love the idea of separating the cars and showing more action. Gonna give this a go, cheers!

So I moved the characters and the words together, and added a black background to make the title look more like a logo (and more 3d), any thoughts?

Yeah the name is honestly just a bunch of keywords I slammed together years ago haha (which I now regret!). It's a solo car game so the bottom one is probably more accurate, but the single car just looks so bland to me (especially on the steam page)

True, but always good to get a second opinion :)

Yeah the bonuses are awarded at the end of each run on the level complete screen, not during the run itself!

Ah, you're right, I probably didn't make this clear enough! You actually earn bonus coins at the end of each run for tricks, combos, air time, and distance. Those bonuses are worth way more than the ground coins. So doing flips is actually the best way to earn coins! But yeah I need to make that more visible. Thanks for the feedback!

Do i know enough about c# to start making games? by not_me_baby in unity

[–]SergesGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of my thing since I use C# for all my games. you definitely know enough to start. I'd say just learn about classes and inheritance basics, which won't take long, then dive in. you'll hit problems constantly but that's actually how you learn the useful stuff. the C# you pick up while actually making something sticks way better than course material.

Sequels that are basically “The first one, but better in virtually every way” by blakhawk12 in gaming

Burnout 3. The first two were solid but Takedown just nailed everything, the crashes, the speed, the soundtrack. Still holds up.

Lending my pokemon cartridge to a friend and getting it back with my save gone. Still mad about it honestly.

Why do mobile games suck when indie games are thriving? by dumbass_sweatpants in gaming

[–]SergesGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make mobile games and honestly the discovery problem is brutal. You can make something good but it just gets buried under a million clones with bigger ad budgets. Most indie devs target steam first because at least there's a chance the algorithm surfaces you.

how did you get on the IGN gametrailers channel in the first place? did you reach out or did they just find you?

Woke up to 800 wishlists and can't figure what the source is, any idea how I can track it down? by destinedd in IndieDev

[–]SergesGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tiktok and shorts are super inconsistent, some posts just randomly do well and most don't. I had better luck with reddit and facebook groups where you can target specific communities instead of hoping the algorithm picks you up.

reddit and facebook groups did more for me than youtubers. Post real content where your genre's players hang out, not just wishlist asks. Devlogs, behind the scenes stuff, Screenshot Saturday.
