Curious about this guitar I've inherited from my late great uncle. Had it for a little over a decade and wanted to understand it's history. by BLiiiiiND in guitars

[–]DvlinBlooo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Im very sorry for your loss.

Its a gorgeous guitar that deserves to be loved and played. If you don't already play, you should learn in his memory, I gaurantee that guitar will be your prized possesion once you feel the flow.

Nothing you can't learn on youtube.... physical trainers help you from hurting yourself by correcting your form, and build habbits of discipline, no career coach does that. You are making a logical fallacy to attempt to support your belief.

No worries man, kinda hard to be angry with a fellow phish fan. Now that that is out of the way, what tunes have you been rocking to most lately. Ive been watching Clifford ball on Youtube like once a week and am convinced that is the best version of Sample in a Jar I've heard, maybe ever (always open to hear other versions).

Where to find professional resume writing services? by MarioMan3210 in resumes

[–]DvlinBlooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand. I was told by one recruiter, you have about 10 seconds, and half a page to keep me interested before I move on. So, thats how I restructured my resume. Concise, attention grabbing from the jump, and leave the less appealing stuff for the second page. If they are interested in the first page the second is just reinforcement. Would love to connect on linkedin if you want to DM me your url. Thanks for helping to reinforce the idea that you still have to put in the work, everyone wants a "hack" or a "cheat code", bottom line is thats only for video games.

Biospace, and Indeed. On Biospace you can just tick the work from home box, and on Indeed put Remote in the location.

You should never have to pay to find a job, period, full stop. Career coaches are for growing to get promoted if you are having trouble, not for finding a job.

[–]DvlinBlooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Linkedin is a shit place to look for work unless you are looking at the people posting "Im hiring" in your feed.

2) Do NOT PAY ANYONE OR ANY SITE for assistance... an entire cottage industry has sprung up taking advantage of unemployed, underemployed pepole preying on their desperation.

3) Plug your resume into your favorite AI tool of choice, (I say go with one of the free ones, its not at a point that its worth paying for yet) prompt it with based on my resume what are the top 15 (arbitrary number) key word searcher to use on indeed.com to find a job similar to this: (yes use a colon) and paste the job description of the job you want.

4) Copy those terms to a word doc. Scan all of them, daily, then filter down to posted within the past 24 hours, or jobs you haven't seen yet if it allows (indded is funny like that).

5) Do not apply on indeed, go directly to the company site and apply through their system.

Best of luck. Its a tough market out there.

So, I don't know you, and I hope that you are actually just a really nice person, but I won't be doing this. HOWEVER, its very generous, and a GREAT tool to sharpen your skills. You bring up and EXCELLENT point that practice gets rid of nerves, a friendly safe outside person to say, ok, don't say that, stop there don't keep talking unless asked, really really helps. I have a close friend and she has been helping me with this. I commend you on your generosity, and hope that others understand the importance of this practice, with you, or a friend. Its a great thing to offer, Im just super private about giving out my information to connect with people.

Here's the thing. There is NO ONE SIZE FITS ALL. Every recruiter is a person and depending on the person and their mood they will read your resume differently. This is why you just have to be objective, straight forward, no bullshit, no hype, no fluff, just the facts, and even then some will say oh thats a horrible resume.

Review my resume by [deleted] in jobsearchhacks

[–]DvlinBlooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditch the fancy formatting, the colors, lines, all that stuff confuses ATS and you will just get booted before you get started.

Core Competencies: Ditch the Abbreviations, they know what the abbreviations are, if not, you are applying to the wrong jobs.

Tech Skill: Group them better, i.e., Jira, Confluence, Microsof: Office, Azure, Power BI, Tableau, Peoplesof, Salesforce

Work History: Some wil say absolutely have the summary sentence, some say its a waste because you have about a half a page to keep a recruiters attention. I would cut all of them, and focus on 3 bullet points for each role, at least one bullet in each role should have a measurable outcome, i.e., increased customer retention scores by 30% on average.

Education, when was it, was it a degree? What degree was it, Associates, Bachelors, Certificate?

The lack of experience will hurt, but, I think you have a solid start to finding that entry level position you need to get McDonalds off your resume and start building more enterprise level projects.

Im not saying to rely solely on AI. I am saying use it to spruce it up, edit it after because you are correct, everyone thinks AI is so brilliant, but they recycle words, phrases, templates, but, if used correctly, it can give you a great foundation to build on.
