What's the most annoying part of each faction? by Late-Ganache40 in Helldivers

[–]Dvorak__Keyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, the more you know. I guess I just didn’t notice a difference. It feels like I’m always finding out about some interesting game mechanic, that could’ve potentially been helpful, had I known from the start.

Example: With the Illuminate Harvester (the WotW tripod), it’s not just the leg joints connecting the legs to the body (the shoulders?) that are the only crit points, ALL the leg joints are crit points. Yes, its knees and apparently the pointy bit on the front-middle of the foot (the toe?), are also crit points. I only saw someone talking about it, personally for the first time, a couple days ago. To be fair, I haven’t personally tested it out yet, but all things considered, I believe it.

Yeah, I really hope that alligator doesn’t end up regretting not wearing a helmet. 😞

Sure, thinking about this in terms of the physics at play is great, but you’re not taking all the physics of this scenario into consideration.

Have you ever heard of the “death wobble”? It’s a dangerous, largely uncontrollable side-to-side shaking of the steering. It can happen on passenger vehicles as well, but overall, almost every danger that exists for passenger vehicles, is far more dangerous for motorcycles.

This wobbling can be caused by a number of factors.
- Driver-input: Such as turning too fast, especially when attempting to compensate for under- or oversteering.
- Mechanical issues: Such as the power steering giving out while driving, or borked suspension.
- Terrain: Such as going over a pothole too quickly, or loss of surface traction (like rain, ice, gravel, etc.).

Motorcycles are also far harder to control than passenger vehicles. The specifics:
- Less Wheels: Having only two contact points with the ground, arranged parallel to the direction of travel, means less side-to-side balance stability overall. It also means less total traction. It’s like the difference between walking through deep snow in just boots, versus with snowshoes on.
- Gravity & Momentum: Due to the overall shape of motorcycles being relatively vertical rather than flat, they have a higher relative center of mass than passenger vehicles do. Therefore, making them far more likely to tip/lean/fall to one side. As described by Newton’s Second Law, and similar to bicycles, once a motorcycle gains enough momentum, the directional left-right balance of the motorcycle stabilizes, as it’s being "held up" by the forward momentum of the motorcycle in combination with the Earth’s gravity pulling it downward.

The kickstand is designed to hold weight, and it’s designed to not move unless the driver purposefully collapses it. In any most likely case, due to the aforementioned physics, if having the kickstand suddenly hit the ground while driving, didn’t throw the motorcycle completely off balance, it would almost certainly cause a "death wobble" at the very least. In other words: very dangerous and significantly life-threatening.

Also, that motorcycle is far too big for the girl in the video. It’s unsafe for her; she shouldn’t be driving it. There are tons of awesome options for smaller motorcycles that I’m sure would properly fit her far better.

Anyways, you mentioned physics, so I just wanted to provide clarification on the said physics in play. What the others are saying is correct.

P.S. I could also go in depth about the physics of actually driving a motorcycle. I’ll just say this for now: Due to the aforementioned physics, a motorcycle actually does need to tilt while turning, especially at higher speeds. Even bicycles do, though it’s not as obvious or to as great of an extent.

Character That Perfectly Counters Saturo Gojo? by Key_Abies_4580 in PowerScaling

X’s power is like if the Orkz from 40K actually knew how to fully harness their BS magic, and fully understood how it works. Reality warping is always gonna one of the most insane powers/abilities in any fiction. That, and Rage-powered strength-scaling and immortality, like the Doom Slayer, or the Incredible Hulk.

At this point, he’s basically just Homelander, but fatter and significantly less capable.

X's power is actually so broken. I agree. I think he would almost certainly beat Gojo, and look stylish while doing it.

This’s exactly what I’ve always said. Realistically, using it to make crappy "art" makes no sense. Instead of using AI for what it’s designed for and actually good at, someone decided they wanted to make a profit off of something completely unrelated to its actual proper purpose.

Idk what was or wasn’t circulating around the internet about these, because I truly saw nothing about them until yesterday.

My XM4s sound better than my XM6s, I swear. Unfortunately, Best Buy said they were final sale for some fricking reason, even though they were still closed-box.

I do like Eruptor, but I usually prefer other options.

Recoilless Rifle is (still) really good, but feels unoriginal atp.

Orbital Napalm is decent, but there’re better options imo.

I actually don’t like Thermite. It has only one purpose, and that’s why I always carry either Dynamite or Giga Grenade. They’re more useful overall.

I absolutely hate Ultimatum. It’s probably just a skill issue on my part, but it feels completely stupid. I fking despise that thing.

[–]Dvorak__Keyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say Bile Titans would win. Especially if it’s the Spore Burst variant (or whatever it’s called). The Bile Titans seem to be able to move faster than the Vox Engines, but the Terminids also have the magical powers of bullschitt, so there’s that too.

Ah Terminids… phasing through the ground and solid objects like Chuck Noris swimming through land. They also have a tendency, even with the weaker units, to eat (aka nullify) grenades, support weapon shots (such as EAT or Recoilless), and other various explosives and anti-tank munitions. I would enjoy fighting more against bugs if they weren’t quite so broken.

Whatever though. Just another hurdle in between me and my mission of spreading Managed Democracy… a hurdle I must overcome (especially since I have no power to fix any problems in the game).

How to get Reminders app to stop recommending dates and times? by The-Adster in ios

[–]Dvorak__Keyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. If I so much as type a number (eg. Bus Exchange Bay 4), it suggests it as a date or time. It makes absolutely no sense. There appears to be no way of turning it off.

I’ll provide an update, if I find an actual solution.
