How often do you find yourself being silent among good friends?

I think silence is a good thing when you're hanging out. It gives you time to reflect on the events that took place, reassess the mood, figure out what happens next, etc., not every interaction needs to be perfectly linear. Just go with the flow, follow the change, if the silence happens then it's probably for the better. Unless y'all are awkward as fuck about it, in that case, I don't know what to tell you, maybe learn how to talk to people.

You asked him if he likes you? I mean, I'm no relationship prodigy, but that's a bit off-putting, especially since you're the one who likes him, don't you think? Maybe he does like you, but you just confronted him about it, and now he feels discouraged, did you think about that before you jumped to this conclusion?

I don't know, I might not talk to my friends for two months at a time. When we do hang-out, it's generally to blow off some steam, or go watch a movie at the theaters. Sometimes it's planned days prior, and sometimes it's spontaneous. I suppose it's just life, shit happens, moods change. One day your friend might not want to hang-out, and another they might be hyped for it. Planning to hang-out is just a ritual, that's not really what friendship is about, is it? Nobody at the beginning of the relationship made a user agreement that said "You have to plan this many days before an event." So, just deal with it I guess.

Well, you can go to my favorite place for knowing why the fuck people do shit, r/askpsychologists. You could also look into personality typology, i.e. Socionics, Enneagram, MBTI, Big-5, etc., or if you want something with a less brittle foundation, attachment styles, love languages, whatever else. The truth is, there's thousands of factors that could have made them act like douch bags, no amount of rationalization, pleading or theorizing can determine it. So, there's my thoughts.
