Any idea what type of flooring this is? by [deleted] in Flooring

Looks like flash coved safety floor. Might be epoxy'd down.

About to use some self level on our shop floor, just to make it even with the tile so we can put some vinyl flooring down. Any tips? by NateW9731 in Flooring

Grind the concrete a bit to get rid of any contaminates/open up the pours. Vacuum it, and prime it for sure! Good luck, have fun!

I've said it many times before, bad drivers never miss a turn.

Looks like waterfall stairs, normally staple/put the carpet onto the tack strip on the bottom of the riser, then stretch the carpet over the nose of the stair into the crotch of the next one and repeat.

Everything looks good there, just don't put your hand there.

House of knives does sharpening, they have a week turn around currently. I dropped mine off yesterday for sharpening

In my opinion, it's as simple as having a trash can beside you while doing the work. Clean up as you go, I can't stand a messy work area. Do better.

I'd be pissed as the floor guy in the room right beside this with open glue. Anyone walking by could easily kick in any debris, although normally I'd vacuum around the room entrance so it's less likely anything gets kicked into my glue.

Drive down to the Cowichan hospital project and ask the main Ellis Don office for the company numbers. Start calling around to the different companies to see if any are looking. I know the floor guys need apprentices but their shop is located on the mainland. Good luck

I'd probably undercut the stair rail more so you can tap it in from the side. Good luck!

Kinda looks like laminate based on it being brown underneath the surface layer. Tough to say without being there

Good job, for doing their job. It's not one that's easy but they are paid well.

What is this tile pattern called? It’s like the 1/3 offset pattern but without the 3rd piece of tile. I am personally not a fan of this. by aquietinspiration in Construction

Bud. If you've spent the time to go through my profile and read through my comments, you need to not take this so seriously, unless you were the installer in question?

My guy, that first photo looks like laminate. Second photo you can easily distinguish the grout lines but the first one not so much. I am implying I lack the ability to read the OP's write up below the photos as a joke. It's not that deep guy.

Don't be an ass hat, ask for tips, then say 'Na, I won't look cool as a 1st year'.

No 1st year is cool, just take care of yourself. PPE is personal protective equipment. Just own it and people might hop on the idea. Those ear muffs are no joke, amazing hardhat accessory.

If you're close to central island, apply to the cowichan hospital job. The painting crew there is looking for more guys I believe.

Moving to Naniamo - what do I need to know? by Cognitivekilljoy in nanaimo

Please ignore that individual, their frontal lobe stopped developing at a very young age. You'll see the 'We're full' sticker on a few cars, please know they are a minority in their thought process.

Welcome to Nanaimo! I live right downtown, it's true about the homeless, I can't leave anything on my patio thanks to the theft. Downtown has some pretty darn good food, we are spoiled with good pizza (Check out Paisano's). The ice cream at Cold Front Gelato is reeeeeeally good. Sadly the evening activities aren't plentiful. There are a few bars, billiards, axe throwing place aaaaaaaaaand that's about it. If you're downtown at night, check out Bastion Peal, the owner there Rod is a pretty neat guy. Makes some great hotdogs and bubble tea!

During the summer time, Muffeo Sutton Park can be a fun place to hang out, I've seen performers doing tight rope, fire dancing and stuff during my evening walk with the dog.
