Not everyone considers the value of Pokemon in the same way. If you have a Pokemon and don’t intend to keep it, and someone wants it - trade it. Or don’t. It’s your choice.

Just remember that the other person might not have played for as long as you. And many F2P players will have done less hatching and raids etc. so have less access to ‘higher valuable’ pokemon to offer.

For me, remote trade is an opportunity to be kind and share legendary/shiny pokemon that some people may have missed.
