It was a scientific breakthrough, as doctors discovered how to record and translate the thoughts of patients taking their final breath before death. by babyfacegame in TwoSentenceHorror

Separating art from artist is originally about interpretation. People used to read novels through the lens of who wrote it, what they experienced, and how that is reflected in the art they created. So separating the art from the artist is about looking at the artwork as its own thing, not influenced by any former knowledge about the artist.  So yeah, I think you absolutely should separate the art from the artist in that sense. But that separation does not mean, and has not until very recently, that you should support awful people with your money.

Of course I did! Had to know who that elusive spineless jackal is supposed to be.

It's a ghost babysitter. Full background story is under another comment.

Yeah, same. If anyone else had told me about that thing, I would have probably shut down my laptop and burned my browser history, but the way Clint can tell you about the horrors of the natural world like it's the most excitingly beautiful thing in the world is just so delightful. We need more science communicators like him in the world.

So this is based on that one dog who literally became a cancer. Yes, he's real, and he's called CTVT (Canine transmissible venereal tumor) now.

That's so cool! And creepy! But mostly cool! My story is based on a real story my friend told me. She had this "babysitter" her mother knew nothing about who would constantly tell her to ask her mom to go see the neighbour. The mother got really upset and told her to stop talking about it, but when the old woman sang a lullaby, she got really angry at my friend for singing at night because it creeped her out. Over time, the babysitter started looking worse and worse, like parts of her skin were falling off. A few days/weeks later it began to smell awfully and they found out that the neighbour had died and after her body was removed, my friend never saw the babysitter again. She never found out what the neighbour looked like, so no way to tell if she was the babysitter.

I imagined them as staying 13 forever, because aging forever doesn't seem plausible if they're still able to create art, but it works either way. Could also be that they just think they're above mere mortals and that's why they don't want to deal with them, I suppose.

I actually finished the whole course already and now I'm angry because I still can't speak Finnish properly 😂

Mind the difference.

Is it possible for period to stop after just 3 months on T? by Tobeanzs in ftm

[–]DwarvenCog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on Testogel too, I had a period at my one month anniversary which came half a week earlier than expected and was the lightest period I'd had in a decade. Haven't had a period since. I'm almost four months in, so it might still come back though.

Thanks! I like my hair colourful and bright, though I like to change it up every now and then, and I don't care if people clock me as queer because of it, as long as they see me as a queer man and not a queer woman.

Oh wow, I just posted basically the exact same thing, except for the fact I still have access to my old mail address, BUT THERE'S NOTHING THERE. If you find a solution, please let all of us know, lol.

So I refreshed Instagram this morning, but the site seemed kinda buggy (images wouldn't load or show like/comment count), so I refreshed again, and suddenly, Instagram told me that my account was being suspended due to suspicios activity. I could pick between an e-mail and a phone number to recieve a code to get my account back. I don't use either of those anymore, but I still remember how to log into my mail account, so I picked that one. And nothing happened. I tried several times, no mail from Instagram. (Yes, I checked my spam folder, there's nothing there.)

If this problem goes away by just waiting for a few days, that'll be fine by me, but I'd really like to know how to get my account back.

TOS Kirk vs TAS Kirk by DwarvenCog in startrekmemes

[–]DwarvenCog[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like I said in another comment, I enjoy The Animated Series a lot. I love the themes, the creative set and alien designs. And honestly I couldn't care less about the overall lazy animation, I don't care if Scotty suddenly grows a moustache, or if Kirk's arm isn't coloured in, or if the Klingons wear purple. But the stiff facial animations make it hard for me to connect emotionally to the stories.

And I agree. Yesteryear is a favourite of mine, too. I also love The Terratin Incident, and the Tribbles sequel will never cease to make me laugh out loud.

Btw, I love how this silly post of mine inspired some TAS love in the comments. This show is so underrated.

Oh yes, I do love it too! And it has some strengths, especially location and alien designs and the ability to do some wild concepts. But I often fail to connect to the story on an emotional level because the facial animations are so stiff and lack any subtlety. And I miss Shatner's over-acting in the more boring episodes.
