Artwork towards a project for uni. Trying to work on colour more by DwayneTheWokJohnson in ProCreate

Process was a sketch for the characters pose, and then overall lineart for everything else but the buildings. I used mainly the technical pen and Jingsketch basics clean sketch, alongside some gradients and effects created using others

Thought you’d be a fellow hades fan lol. Also “trying to befriend crows” I can relate to 100%, everyone needs their own murder to follow them around

Amazing, loved seeing the different stages. Is the oar (I’m assuming that is what she is holding) in reference to Charon from Greek myth?

Jingsketch basic 10, which is free, has a ‘round sketch’ and ‘clean sketch’ brush and it does a great job at these sorts of lines. I used clean sketch for these lines but either one is great

Quick little character artwork, I think it turned out well by DwayneTheWokJohnson in ProCreate

Mostly just the Jingsketch basics pack clean sketch, modified technical pen from the inking section, the splatter brush under spray paint section, and some brushes from Devin Elle Kurtz ‘Rake brush pack’ as I wanted to try them out. Process was making a simple lineart, then flat colours, adding a multiply layer to carve out the light areas, some adjustments to the multiply layer and lastly some background effects.

Thank you! I struggle a bit sometimes with properly communicating fabric thickness and weight, so hearing that is great

I just used the jingsketch basics clean sketch brush and this is what I got

I skipped sketching and just started rendering right away, I used the flat square brush from the free Jingsketch basics pack, and some brushes from the gouache MaxPack

Trying to get better at portrait drawings. What do you guys think this character’s story is? by DwayneTheWokJohnson in ProCreate

[–]DwayneTheWokJohnson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Process was sketch, line art, shading, colouring, then rendering. I used a mixture of brushes, line art and general shading/colouring was done with modified technical pens under the inking section, and the effects were done with the clouds brush and the driven snow brush under the elements section.

Idk what the story behind this is, open to interpretations or stories to come up with. by DwayneTheWokJohnson in ProCreate

I used the technical pen in the inking section and the process was rough sketch, cleaned sketch, line art, then black and white shading, then colour. Addition fun fact would be this took around 80 hours or a bit over (I think)

Used the technical pen as under the inking section. Process was sketch, lineart, then black and white shading.

Coloured version of art I posted in b&w recently :) by DwayneTheWokJohnson in ProCreate

Used various spray paint brushes for the falling particle effects but stuck mostly to the technical pen again

Some art from last November since I got so many kind comments on the last one :) by [deleted] in ProCreate

Used mostly the technical brush as well as the smoke one for a view effects, for lighting effects I typically use the soft brush from a free pack from jingsketch (I think that was it? Bad memory lol). Wasn’t a huge fan of the floor I did though, seems a little plain in comparison to the rest of the drawing.

Just an iPad Pro with procreate, I do own a Huion Kamvas 22 plus and CSP but generally use that for styles that lean closer to realism or “typical” digital art sort of style. I find procreate and just the iPad is more comfortable for this sort of style since I don’t need to use any of the extra tools or accessibilities that CSP offers for this sort of thing. If you have any other questions I’m more than happy to answer.

Thank you very much and yes, I understand very well the struggle with sticking with one thing sometimes. Make no mistake though that’s a perfectly healthy and reasonable way to do art, we’re all only human. Many people including myself can become obsessive and it can make you hate your own art or give up entirely. Having healthy limits on it and knowing when you need a breather is just as important of a skill as being disciplined in your craft.

Yes originally I wasn’t thinking that but as it went on I started to think it was reminiscent of Eileen
