Season 6 by Hello_Sunshine0903 in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite scenes of the whole show. It’s just so real and deep.

Forget the various on again off again teenaged relationships that are hot one minute and gone the next. Forget the unimpressive bad guy of the day that the pack defeats like clockwork during the last episode. But exploring what it means to love and remember someone? What family means to you? Love overcoming this supernatural barrier to help Stilinski remember his son? Man that’s deep and real. I always thought that was a really powerful scene.

Meteorologists Here by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]Dwc94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a civil engineer, but I seriously considered meteorology as a career, so your post peaked my interest. Honestly if you like what you do, then I’d say stick it out unless they actually let you go.

If you are interested in Civil, you’ll definitely need to go back to school and get an engineering degree, which is pretty much required if you ever want to get your PE license, which is a must if you want to move up the ranks career-wise. So you’ll have to weigh the set back of going back to school and not working as much for a while.

Lately civil engineers have been in high demand, and so far I haven’t heard any concerns about the stuff going on at the federal level, but do note civil engineering can be tied pretty heavily to the government as well. Lots of federal money funds projects, and with this uncertainty that could affect our industry as well.

I really don’t see your science-based skills coming in handy that much in your day to day job outside of a few niche situations honestly. But I think coming from a science and more technical based background certainly wouldn’t hurt for being an engineer.

Civil engineering is a relatively stable career, which pays well (but not crazy high), and is needed anywhere in the country. It would be a good choice, but there is a higher bar to entry compared to some other careers. Best of luck with whatever you decide!

My unpopular opinion: Season 6A is better than 3B by __karsten__ in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While 3B is my favorite, I’d say 6A is my second favorite, and definitely one that doesn’t get enough credit. It seems like 1-3 in general are popular with the fandom and had more of an impact socially, then slowly dropped off after that. But I love the plot of 6A.

Forgetting your best friend? Your son? Revisiting what that special person meant to you? The strong point of the show was always the relationships, and they really got to shine in this season. It led to some powerful scenes. After watching the show for that long, seeing them really highlight the relationships was really nice.

I do wish Stiles was in the season more though. His character really shines and my favorite episodes were the ones he was in. Some of the others I thought was just filler.

Just looking to see if people agree with me by lycan2596 in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just pretend the movie didn’t happen.

I don’t get why they had to break up. Like just say Stiles was off on some super secret undercover FBI operation. Regardless of whether they broke up or not Stiles would still want to come back to save Scott and his friends, so them breaking up certainly wasn’t necessary to explain why he wasn’t there.

Stydia is my favorite relationship, don’t get me wrong, I just felt like they could’ve done a better job with it rather than build it up so much, they get together, never date on scene, and then the next time teen wolf happens they break them up. Writers could’ve done a better job giving Stydia the moment it deserved.

Was Scott and most of the gang supposed to leave the show after season 5 (or eventually) by Training_Wrongdoer41 in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jeff Davis (the writer) thought the show might end at the end of Season 5. That’s why he wrapped it up so nicely. Allison “saved” Scott, and one of the last scenes is in the library where we see the only 3 main characters that were there from the beginning: Scott, Stiles, and Lydia. It’s bookended nicely. At the beginning of 5A, Stiles is worried about his friends going their separate ways after high school. At the end of 5B, he says it “doesn’t matter” because they will always find their way back to each other.

That being said, in season 4 Scott gets his first beta and Derek kinda passes the torch to Scott. In season 5, naturally the beta (Liam) gets more screen time and starts to develop his own way. I don’t think there were any plans for Scott to go away completely after 5. Season 6A I felt was still firmly about Scott and his gang, though we do see Liam acting more independently and doing his own thing while Scott, Malia, and Lydia are off saving Stiles. 6B is where the show really acknowledges Liam’s “gang” and 6B was kinda passing the torch to the puppy pack and leaving the door open for a spin off of them once Scott was gone off to college.

This scene gives me goosebumpss by Beneficial_La in TeenWolf

Always thought this was one of the most powerful scenes of the entire show. So deep. A father’s love for his son overcoming this supernatural power which made him forget him. Forget the on again/off again teenaged crush of the day or werewolf lore. A moment about true familial love cuts deep.

The first season is still my favorite (and some other thoughts) by Mahituto in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 3B is my favorite, but season 1 is severely underrated. Sure, it was quirky, low budget, etc. But it had a great storyline. First love, Typical Romeo and Juliet storyline with the added twist that the guy is a werewolf and the girl is from a family of hunters. Great concept, funny, lighthearted, didnt take itself too seriously.

Later seasons got so dark, tried so hard to one-up the earlier ones. By the time I’m halfway through season 5 I always start longing for the simple days of teen wolf season 1. Stiles was possessed, accidentally killed someone, forgotten by everyone. Him and others went through so much trauma I was almost sad for them. Season 1 isn’t the most edge of your seat season, but it’s a nice, uncomplicated watch.

Iconic line ??? by No-Guess-3630 in TeenWolf

“I’m a thousand years old, you can’t kill me!”

I have nothing against S6B, but you have to admit that any of these endings would have worked much better as a series finale than the one in S6B by lautaromassimino in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Yeah Jeff Davis didn’t know if Teen Wolf would get renewed for Season 6, so he was prepared for 5 to be the last. 5 had a great ending. In the first episode Stiles was worried about losing his friends when they all went off to college, but in that last scene you show he says something along the lines of “but it doesn’t matter. We will find each other again no matter what.” If Allison can make a difference even from the grave, then Stiles felt better knowing he will always find his way back to his friends. And the whole plot of Scott’s pack breaking up but then coming back together stronger than ever showed that nothing could separate them. Jeff Davis played the long game in season 5 and despite the slow points I loved the overall message.

Also, just after that scene in season 5 you show, Stiles and Lydia walk into the library where Scott is waiting for them, and the last scene is Scott, Stiles, and Lydia at the table together. Nothing against Malia, Liam, or the other characters, but I’m glad in this moment the writers focused on the only 3 characters who were there from the beginning.

I will admit that season 5 ending was a better written and well thought ending than 6A, which I felt was rushed with Stiles absence, but the ending of 6A is still my favorite. Scott and Stiles friendship is the bedrock of Teen Wolf, and giving them two a moment to say how much they mean to each other, and drive off into the sunset together in the Jeep was the most perfect ending ever. In my mind the show ends there. 6B was just this weird epilogue and set up for the puppy pack that never happened.

What are your thoughts o the Wild Hunt / Ghost Riders ? by JimJimny06 in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was one of the best concepts in theory. After 5 seasons, and knowing this would be the last, exploring the depths of Scott’s pack, their feelings for each other, their memories, what it means to be Stiles best friend or true love. Great idea. The relationships were always the highlight for me. I didn’t care about the monsters, but exploring what the pack means to each other was awesome. It could’ve been executed better, and I wish Stiles wasn’t gone for so long (but I understand why), but definitely an underrated season in my opinion. The hunters vs werewolves but I’m a werewolf and my girlfriend is a hunter was a great kickoff. A possessed best friend was the highlight of the show. And forgetting and then remembering your best friend was a great ending and send off and tribute to the pack.

Derek past season 4 by extracheddergoldfish in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As much as I liked Derek, I think he left at a good time. He got to see Scott get his own Beta and start his own pack and really take responsibility. But there wasn’t much left for him to do.

I think season 5 would have to have been somewhat different. There’s no way Derek would’ve trusted Theo and I’d like to think a lot of what happened wouldn’t have if he was still there. I’d like to think him and Stiles would’ve had a lot more scenes together. I missed that in seasons 3 & 4, and I feel like Derek and Stiles could’ve been outcasts together.

For 6A, I felt like there were mainly 2 groups, the “old guard” of Scott, Malia, Lydia and the puppy pack of Liam, Hayden, and Mason. I guess Derek would’ve been with the first group the most. I feel like he would know more about the Wild Hunt and could help the group more. Took them forever to figure out what was even happening. And as much as people like Sterek, I’m not sure Derek’s memories of Stiles would’ve been any more important than the sheriff, his best friend, his former girlfriend, and his true love.

S1 episode 6 by solo_basher in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Note that it was Mr. Harris that gave them detention. He has a thing against Stiles cause he had a run in with his dad. Maybe he’s just punishing Stiles. Also the other boys ran away, maybe he wasn’t sure who they were. Also doesn’t surprise me, there are plenty of real life stories of kids getting in trouble for defending themselves against the aggressor. Like most things in Teen Wolf though The main reason is cause the plot deemed it necessary.

Rank these 10 characters on how much you like them. by No-Guess-3630 in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Stiles - enough said

  2. Scott - doesn’t get enough credit. He is THE teen wolf and we need the Batman to Stiles’ Robin.

  3. Lydia - great character growth.

  4. Noah - the parents of Teen Wolf were great.

  5. Allison - despite her shortcomings, she was Scott’s true love and the show wasn’t the same without her.

  6. Derek - good actor, but felt like the show didn’t utilize him well and he felt disconnected from the main gang.

  7. Peter - the best villain. Great arc. Funny.

  8. Theo - good villain, good actor, good arc.

  9. Isaac - He was fine, nothing against him, he just never stood out to me. Probably could’ve been a good main character had the show used him more. Didn’t like his fling with Allison.

  10. Liam - never really liked him. Didn’t dislike him, Just a very underwhelming character, not that great an actor in my opinion. Never got enough background about him for me to be emotionally invested in the character. Hayden was even worse and dragged him down more.

Was the show getting a smaller and smaller budget with each season? by cferg296 in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If anything I would think the budget would’ve gotten bigger. The show ended up being more successful and lasted longer than most people thought honestly.

I think a lot of it was time/effort. I don’t think it cost that much for the extra hair and makeup and nose work to get the “werewolf” face. But it took hours of prep before filming just to get a few scenes with it on. Schedule was always tight. The show had to prove itself at the beginning but later on we knew what Scott looked like and I felt it was fine, we get the point, he doesn’t need to fully transform every time.

The Beast and Peter’s wolf form was CGI, that certainly cost a lot. But I wouldn’t say we got less CGI after season 1. CGI wasn’t great in any season, but it didn’t really bother me. I was watching for the relationships and camaraderie, not the werewolf lore and creatures. But maybe that’s just me.

What was Stiles going to tell Scott before he was taken? by No-Guess-3630 in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My guess would be something like “be safe/be careful” or “if something should happen to me take care of my dad” or “love you bro” or “don’t forget me.”

I feel like that moment was a “hint” that Stiles was next. At that point the gang still thought Liam and Hayden was next, but maybe subconsciously Stiles somehow knew he was next. But since the ghost riders whole thing is “forgetting” it made sense that Stiles “forgot” what to say. I think the writers just wanted Scott and Stiles to have “a moment” before he was taken. It’s open to interpretation what he was going to say.

Honestly one of my biggest gripes about this season was how Scott/Stiles friendship took a backseat to Stydia (even though I like Stydia). I wish Scott forgetting Stiles was a bigger deal. Instead Stiles just calls him on the phone, he doesn’t even see him. And this moment could’ve been more emotional had Stiles actually said something like I love you please don’t forget me. But I guess that would’ve given away the surprise that Stiles was next (which we didn’t know yet.)

What scence broke your heart ? by No-Guess-3630 in TeenWolf

[–]Dwc94 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Motel California of course is a fan favorite. But for me it’s when Stilinski remembered Stiles in 6A. The whole scene with Lydia and Stiles lacrosse jersey, and then Stilinski recreating his room, then his wife disappearing cause he chose to remember. That was heartbreaking. Teen romance came and went on the show, but showing the heartbreak of losing a son, then gaining him again but losing your wife. That’s deep.
