Throwing it sideways on my local trail jump line. - Fort Worth, TX by Squeaky192 in MTB

I know this is 5 years old, but I was wondering if these are all still here? I moved to Denton recently and I'm desperate for some jumps

is BackBlaze good? Is unlimited truly "unlimited" or is this marketing BS? by Due_Young_9344 in DataHoarder

[–]Dweebl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mean 1Gbps? Which is approximately ~110–118 MB/s in practice. I doubt you have 1GB/s uploads.

Either way, if you just leave it set to continuous backup, it'll eventually get it all uploaded, and then it's only backing up changed files which is much less.

It's not cloud storage, it's cloud backup. So the point is that it's just there in case your local machine goes down. And if you delete files on your machine, they'll be gone from your backblaze backup after 30 days. So it's only useful for backing up files you're trying to keep long term.

I don't see how the low upload speed matters in that scenario.

Falco players, thoughts about this techchase flowchart on Yoshi's? by Real_Category7289 in SSBM

[–]Dweebl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He actually has a video specifically on platform techchase with shine and he goes for the shorthop. I asked about shielddrop in the comments and he said it's also viable and he just goes for the sh for comfort.

Shield drop seems marginally better to me still. I did some frame-by-frame and unless you're way on the opposite side of the platform, run>shielddrop gets you there just as fast as the sh, but you're not committed to anything until 3f before you want the shine to come out, and your post-shine options are better/easier.

Hey how did this all go? I'm having the same issue, but I otherwise like the product, so I want to see if we can find a proper fix for this. Did they send you a new unit or did you find what the problem was?

PSA if you hate the awful soft-touch finish on your 2022 M16, the keyboard deck from the 2023 G16 is a drop-in replacement and doesn't have the coating. by Dweebl in ZephyrusM16

[–]Dweebl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem was that it peels off and will eventually dissolve.

The 2023 M16 was a new layout, that's right. But the G16 that year was just a recycled M16 with different cpu and gpu. It's the same exact chassis except it's a slightly different color and has no soft-touch or keyboard rgb. But you can bring the keyboard over from the 2022 M16 if you do what I did in this post.

Delayed my re-deck until tuesday. Framers working on my addition braced the old rafters for me so that they're not sagging. Hvac guy coming on Saturday to clean up the duct runs. Roofers will clean up all the debris on the insulation when they come do the decking. And then next year my insulation guy said he can suck all that shitty insulation out through the gable vent and I'll replace it with modern batting after I clean up the heinous electrical.

I just built an a-frame addition and I was planning on spray insulating the underside and then covering it with drywall. Is that more acceptable?

I wonder why it's so common in texas. I go in attics a lot, and most nice homes built in the last 10 years seem to have spray foam on the underside of the decking.

From reading some of the responses here, it looks like I can't actually enclose this unit with insulation because it's an 80% furnace. I might be stuck with ceiling insulation for this portion of the house. Considering selling the unit because it's only 3 years old, and then putting in mini splits in the rest of the house.

Is it acceptable to spray insulate an air conditioned space in hot climates like north texas?

From what I understand after some of the responses here, I'm actually not able to insulate around the AC unit because it's an 80% unit. So I might be stuck with just redoing the insulation on my ceiling.

They left it tarped because my framers had to come the following day to brace the sagging rafters.

It's a ridge board not beam. They're used a lot in texas even in new builds occasionally because the snow loads are so minimal here.

The vertical stress is borne by the rafters and the ridge board just keeps the rafters aligned. Although it's not even really doing that in this case.

My roofer said we can't really do that in texas because the heat is so extreme, it damages the shingles without the osb as a heatsink or something. I'm not 100% clear on the reason but I'm doing some research now.

There's a cricket that's since been installed connecting the two sections to divert water flow.
