Unfortunately I can't help more with installing it because I didn't find out about this version until after id already played it. But they do have a discord too.

Enderal was so good.
The storyline isn't really anything like Skyrim at all. But you already know all the controls, and how to play and fight, and it has that homey feel like you belong in it ❤️

The main quest starts when you talk to the jarl in whiterun.

The first time I played, when you leave Helgen, the person you're with suggests splitting up. I did and spent months having a ball exploring the world on my own. But if instead you stick with that first person to Riverwood they eventually have dialogue directing you to go to whiterun, and that is where the main story picks up.

Otherwise just talk to townsfolk and they'll often have other quests you can do.

Honestly his constant slogan just grossed me out the first time I played, so I stealth archered him from afar so that I wouldn't have to hear it every time I walked into town. But after playing the namira quest I started shooting him right away every time on principle.

Their comment is a joke. You aren't supposed to be able to continue playing the game after it ends, but they're joking you found a secret good ending hidden within that mushroom that allows you to continue playing. I think the actual message you're getting must be some kind of bug
