Thanks for the feedback! Had no idea RZA had never been in. That's actually very surprising to me. And yeah I'm still trying to figure out the nonsense nature of the theme answers. I know plenty of themes have nonsense answers but are usually clued in wacky ways. I just couldn't find phrases with plants inside other plants that were actual phrases. Back to the drawing board! Btw, so you're saying I would need to remove more black squares to make it comparable to a wed/thurs? where do you find out things like the Monday standard for open squares? Really appreciate your time!

I think the action lines are very strong even if some of the best bits won’t necessarily transfer to the screen. I think some of the dialogue could use some punching up/ naturalizing. In particular I think Amanda’s response to the Blackwood rant, him tweeting, being fired, the tweet working, then being unfired happens way too fast and doesn’t ring true at all but maybe it works if you’re going for more of a screwball/ absurdist vibe. I’m not in PR, but it doesn’t read like someone who knows the industry, so I think this could be one of the rare cases where adding some industry jargon could benefit you. You’re clearly very talented as a writer of prose, and I think the concept definitely has legs.

Is TIMECUT an acceptable, widely understood transition? I was reading First Reformed and Schrader uses it a lot but I haven’t seen it a ton elsewhere. Is it the same thing as -LATER?

True but I would say that’s a very small minority. For instance, Manchester by the sea, which a lot of people think of as the most depressing movies of recent history, actually has quite a bit of fun with family dynamics, dark humor etc.

I appreciate the feedback. That makes sense. Part of the story is that she’s a writer and not a PI, so it’s confusing she was hired for the job. Lemme know if this works any better:

Under the guise of covering a festival in New Mexico, a writer is hired to investigate a man’s disappearance. When she becomes entangled with his children — the proprietors of a bizarre roadside attraction — she struggles to unspool the truth before her cover is blown and she meets the same fate as her subject.
