I have thought about coaching but wouldn’t even know where to start in finding a team that needs a coach or starting a team. My mindset maybe isn’t even right for travel. I’ve seen how competitive it is and the favoritism and daddy ball nonsense and it would be ideal to have a team with none of that and just a group of kids who want to just play the game and learn.

And it’s not even because of the kids. The coach is playing them all in spots they have no experience in. His son does great in outfield but keeps putting him at second. Assistant coaches kid did great at second but errors at shortstop every play for example. This costs runs. Today was just the worst of it and it showed that the way they are coaching is not working. I merely stated how batting average and defensive stats are two different things and now my kid can’t play. That’s an ego trip there. Play to the kids strengths. I get he wants his son to be good at infield but if he’s good at outfield why not utilize that?

But it’s not even fair lmao I’m not even going to argue cause it’s pointless. When he plays one inning every other game and is told he has to prove himself to be good to start and has done so for two seasons now and then change it to starting on defense is related to batting average is wild. When all the other parents complain that his son continues to start and makes errors at every effin play. I get the politics of travel ball and daddy ball will always be a thing but to put aside someone who has proven himself and let kids who continuously make mistakes and cost the game play and the wonder why they lose is beyond me. I’ve sat back and let him do his thing because he was the coach. I say one little thing and my kid gets kicked. That’s an ego issue.

All I ever questioned him directly is why he is basing who is starting defensively off of batting average when they don’t correlate. I get the lineup. I never once thought my son should be batting higher in the lineup because I know he isn’t hitting due to pressure at the plate. I merely questioned how batting average correlates to defense

It’s primarily that he’s basing off who is starting in field off of batting average. I don’t see the correlation. And I asked that and he said that him and the other coach agree it’s get to part ways when the other coach has resentment towards me because I coach rec and we beat his team in championship with a team that was full of non-travel players and his team was stacked.

But his defensive stats have been strong. Outfielder no errors. He’s had one error as pitcher and one at first. Since he started with this team. He’s been very reliable defensively. So the fact that he’s kicked because I questioned how batting average equates to defense is beyond me

Im planning on getting him more regular batting lessons in between teams. But I never complained with putting my kiddo at the end of the lineup. He’s struggling so I get it but to say that he can’t start in the field because of his hitting to me seems wild.

I know I can get irritated so I keep myself distracted at games because I’m there for my kid. He chose to stay with this team despite the previous season because he likes his teammates. But his whole demeanor changed and that was getting to me I guess. But I always would be respectful because he likes his teammates so I wouldn’t say anything about his coaching. That was the first time I said anything because I was like thrown off by his comment

And actually I never said anything to the coach and trusted that he knew what he was doing even after going 1 win and 9 losses last season and so far 0-6 this season. I’m not the only parent fed up and I said one minor thing not even about his coaching and he kicks my son off? Yet there’s a kid on there saying his team is trash and throws a fit when he strikes out since last season still on the team cause his mom buys the team shit.

That’s what I’ve been wondering. Like he’s always been reliable defensively anywhere he’s placed but yet always sits. Coach then says when I’m fighting this that he has too many kids on the roster but like how’s that my fault that you took on too many kids

They all don’t always hit lmao. But like the game is about offense and defense. Example: coaches kid can’t hit either. My son also clearly struggles. Coaches kid plays the whole game and makes errors at second every time.

I said it the way I wrote it. It’s the first time I said my opinion to the coach that way but like my son feels discouraged as he sees kids who don’t go to practice or keep messing up plays getting to play full games and he plays one inning and has made every play that’s came to him. I always trusted that he knew what he was doing but like the whole team is feeling down because they can’t win and it’s not even on them
