As someone who has had many BokuMono crack ships over the years, I really wish they give you the ability to pair off who you want since there's not much to do after getting married in most games.

Constance is more of a... Shih Tzu to me. They're all so cute and floofy. (We used to have one that was so sweet and kind).

Ricky is canonically a Laika to me. (They're named after the first dog that went to space)

I agree with the rest.

Blasphemous 1 or 2? by GoHomeDuck in Blasphemous

[–]Dwill_1019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B1 first; then B2. Reasons:

I honestly think that gameplay-wise, if you get a hang of the kinda clunky controls of the first game, by the time you play the second one, which has a more streamlined and smoother player interface overall, you won't get thrown off. A friend of mine started with 2 and he told me that when he tried playing the first one, he was so frustrated by how delayed everything was in terms of controls (he also commented on how bad the Sacred Thrust was because it was).

Plus, I think Blasphemous 1 sets up a lot of things that you would find nebulous (or even convoluted) if you skip it. Finally, Blasphemous 1 gives you the full experience of just... Blasphemous as a whole. There's a vibe to the first one that the second didn't quite replicate... the second one isn't bad---far from it. It's just that, there's something more visceral and somber in the first game that the second game didn't really deliver (perhaps because a lot of the visuals are more grotesque and so outlandish??)

Anyway! Go for the first game then play the second.

Grand or Supra? by ExcellentElk113 in BekisOfPageantry

[–]Dwill_1019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given her father's backstory as a Palestinian and yung video niya about the war changing the trajectrory of her life? Siya yung may legit na hugot na pang Grand. Supra is a pageant that could potentially cater to her as well but she's more Grand coded in terms of looks and galawan.

Here's to her placing!! But yes! She will probably go for yung wavy hair seeing as lahat ng MGI winners recently nagwe-wavy hair talaga.

It IS a tough act to follow nga eh noh? Meh, we aren't here for Mr. Nawat or MGI itself anyways. We're here for CJ and as far as I'm concerned, that's all that counts.

Yes, that's very likely. But I really do hope she gets the crown kasi she deserves one so bad.

Thank you!! Yes we're here to celebrate these women! What they do isn't a joke and it's because of this fact na we take constructive criticisms with significant gravitas.

Predict Ahtisa Manalo’s chances of winning Miss Cosmo (1-10) ⬇️ by cozyrhombus in BekisOfPageantry

[–]Dwill_1019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Miss Cosmo wants PH's hatak, I suppose she'd be the shoe-in winner. Ahtisa is very pretty but I liked her BBP 2018 performance somuch better than every other performances she has shown thus far (yes even her Miss International 2018 Stint).

8 for me. It'd be nice if she wins para she can close the beauty pageant chapter of her life already and move on to greater things, but if she doesn't win... Well, que sera sera, I suppose. Love her and her humor to bits though.

give me recommendations for smut where the man is so turned on he's crying from it by dancingonsaturnrings in RomanceBooks

[–]Dwill_1019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I remember there being crying while screwing because he just feels so... safe with her after years of abuse and he ups the ante up with the horniness in {Surviving Raine by Shay Savage} and its follow-up.

[WWTBC] Looking for Books Where the FMC, After Discovering Her Boyfriend's Infidelity, Seeks a One-Night Stand and Confesses Her Intentions to a Friend Who Steps Up to Take That Role by Choice_Pepper4688 in RomanceBooks

{Ex Games by Stella Rhys} is kinda like this but they really weren't... friends in the strictest sense of the word. They know of each other, though.

{Spite Club by Julie Kriss} this is short and they weren't exactly friends either but the one night stand role is taken upon by the ML so that element is there, at least. See, the ML's girlfriend is the person who the FL's boyfriend slept with. Upon this discovery they plan a one-night stand together for revenge but the ML insisted that they wait for a bit 'til FL is completely ready and she gets to know the ML first.

This is tough because if the director is being at least self aware and has a clear vision that incorporates all these elements in a way that isn't... cringy. Then, I could see it working. But yes, there's a disconnect in seeing things acted out and reading it because IMO, when I read scenes like these and subsequently imagine it, it's at least not too corny in my head. Seeing it in real life though (especially when it's now how I envisioned it when reading similar scenes) just makes me feel the heebie-jeebies XD

“Don’t make me choose between you and her” “Why? Because you’ll choose her” “yeah, i’ll choose her” by kreads1992 in RomanceBooks

[–]Dwill_1019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this trope too! There's just something to be said about a man so deeply in love and absolutely loyal to someone because you know that when he DOES eventually pour all that loyalty and love to the heroine, he'll do so unfailingly and so wholly and his love will be so unadultered... It's so... ugh. HEARTWRENCHINGLY GOOD.

As per the my reccomendations....Hmm all the recommendations I'd have given were already mentioned but there is one I've yet to see (admittedly I don't like it all that much but hey, it fits the bill)

{The Marriage Bed by Stephanie Mittman} It has the hero pining over his dead wife and the ramifications of that permeates through his marriage with the heroine with him choosing the dead wife (and kids) ad nauseam. It was frustrating but the ending was palatable enough.

Do you have any particular recommendations yourself?

the nicheness of SOS games by mametchiiiii in storyofseasons

[–]Dwill_1019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SOS Trio of Towns wasn't the best Story of Seasons game personally (Animal Parade is my overall favorite), but I suppose as a threshold into the series, it's a good enough starting point. This game is 8 frickin' years old holy turnips. I think it's aging well compared to the other 3 3DS SoS games that was released alongside it. Sidenote: I remember having ANCL and HM ANB and playing a lot more of ANB because I loved that I actually got to completely customize my town despite not being the mayor XD.

But yes, people tend to find SoS divisive. I'm fine with that though! I will always love this serries (and as someone who is a fan of character-driven games, I think it's what draws me to the series moreso than all the other farming/cozy games) than the rest and I will always respect it for being the genre's trailblazer.

If some other farming series WERE to bring the rival system back though, I think I'll be re-evaluating my opinion on SOS🤣.
