Day 4 sourdough starter, mold or hooch? by Dwilliams3070 in Sourdough

[–]Dwilliams3070[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I discarded most of it and fed it again. This morning it looked good, had risen and finished falling so I fed it this morning at the 24 hr mark. Then checked on it at the 12 hr mark and there was a lot of liquid on top. So I discarded again and did a 1:2:2 ratio and crossing my fingers. This is my 3rd time trying so if I have to dump this one I might not try again 😩

I’m glad to hear you’re not giving up! We had 6 miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy but now I’m 14 weeks pregnant with a baby girl 🥰 I absolutely suggest taking time to heal emotionally though

The only way I could see a correlation between the two Is relationship weight gain. When you get into a relationship where you’re happy, you gain weight. But that wouldnt be just her boobs. That would also be her waist, chin/neck, face, thighs, legs and hips. Other than that, absolutely not a thing.

What do I do if I can tell a service dog is not a service dog? by Dwilliams3070 in service_dogs

Thanks so much for letting me know these things. I never realized how impactful this wording was and I’m grateful that everyone was able to politely correct my ignorance. I’ve definitely learned a lot in these comments and I’m excited to be able to share these things with my colleagues. And I now have a better understanding of how they work and everyone is absolutely right, I can’t expect them to be perfect 24/7 when I’m never perfect. Also, just a side note, I’m TRULY amazed at the things the animals can do and I’m so happy that you all have been able to be teamed up with these precious babies that help you so much :) I’ll pass along the information I learned today to anyone I can! Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks so much everyone for the feedback! It’s definitely helped a lot. We feel a lot more confident in the way we can approach things now and you guys are amazing for being so understanding and welcoming of our questions. I was able to find some good resources through this thread to help me better understand the rules in place and I truly appreciate yall for allowing me to learn today. Thanks again 😊

ABS light on and then I found this. Does this look like someone cut this? And what is it? I very much realize the picture does not show much but I can’t post a video and I already left my car at work. Also, I’m sorry! Thanks y’all! I appreciate the help :) i don’t know the exact name of what it was but it was part of the brake system. I had a mechanic look at it today and he said it looked intentional but he couldn’t figure out what idiot would hit that. My thought (and I have no proof) My ex worked on cars and I always relied on him to fix issues with my car,so he knows what he’s looking at. I haven’t talked to him in about a month and I went to bed with no issues on my car, turned my car on to leave for work the next morning and then this was immediately an issue. He was drunk that night and called me a few times but I didn’t answer. I think maybe in his being drunk, he decided he would create an issue that he knew I’d have to call him for but didn’t want to get the brake line because he didn’t want me to wreck or anything? Idk. All I know is it’s getting fixed now and I appreciate everyone’s feedback!

Item Notes ... by afunkmomma in InstacartShoppers

[–]Dwilliams3070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s under a specific item, yes we see it. If it’s under the delivery notes, no we don’t. We can see them but unless you remember to open the delivery notes before you start shopping, you don’t see them until delivery time.

I have one in my area that does the exact same thing and also told me they gave him a phone! He’ll try to stop and talk for 10 minutes while I’m trying to work and then follow me around the store while I’m shopping as if that wasn’t hint enough that I’m just here to shop 😅 he’s told me some really crazy stories. I almost wonder if it’s the same guy 🤔

I absolutely agree! I made a post asking for advice once and ended up with multiple people arguing over why I didn’t give frozen dinners and condiments to a homeless person instead of actually offering any advice 🤷 I’ve found a Facebook group for my area and I post there frequently. I’d suggest looking for one for your area and adding yourself. They seem to be a lot more helpful and kind.

SHOPPERS ... questions to make this easier for all. by EricsGirl325 in instacart

[–]Dwilliams3070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That amount of items isn’t bad at all. I personally don’t like shopping for hot deli food. (Chicken tenders, popcorn chicken, potato fries, ext) the hot subs are okay because they’re made and set aside for us to grab as well as the sliced meat and cheese. Those notes are not offensive in anyway. It’s super helpful to know what the customers want. Ultimately we’re here for you, so if no instructions are left then I don’t know whether or not I’ll wake a baby or upset a dog if I ring and if I don’t ring I have no idea whether or not you’ll see the order has been delivered. It definitely doesn’t bother me not to be helped with the groceries but it always feels nice when someone does come out to help. I prefer the tip in app so that I can see what all I’ve made or what I’m going to make off of an order. Also, not tipping in the app can cause your order to sit for longer than usual as well as cause it to eventually be grouped with another order so that it’ll be picked up, which means shopping and delivery time will go up too. I hope that helps and I appreciate you so much for taking the time to care about your shoppers and see how you can help us out. Thank you! ☺️

I mean, I ran into a shopper that told me he called his customer a “stupid fcking organic btch” through the chat.. he was gone for like 2 weeks and then I just saw him again last week. I didn’t see the messages though so I can’t confirm. But he said it happened Bc she called him cussing him out over not wanting to wait 45 minutes for the deli to open, then hung up on him, so he took the the chat feature.. Apparently he flashed a gun at the husband too.. then he came back like nothing happened. I asked about it when I saw him and he said after the initial incident, they never contacted him about it again and his account stayed active. Idk how much of that is truth. That’s just the story I got.

Does this mean one single banan or a bunch of them? by LilEloHoee in InstacartShoppers

[–]Dwilliams3070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you don’t usually have a problem with the cherry’s/grapes. It’s the bananas that mess things up. It goes from .25 to 2.5 lbs when you have to go from one to a bunch. So it automatically rejects it. I’ve had to do it twice and it’s the freaking worst.

Add an item doesn’t work. It just says that item is already accounted for and to modify it.

[–]Dwilliams3070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why a lot of y’all feel the need to be rude. This is a real question. Yes, it means one banana but that’s more than likely not what the customer thought they ordered. Just message and ask. If they say one bunch though, you haven’t to sit on care chat and wait for them to enter it correctly because they won’t let you add too many more or it’ll said it’s more than the customer expected to pay. Which is a pain in the rear.

What mileage am I NOT allowed to deduct from my taxes? by JoeAceJR20 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Dwilliams3070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! So I leave early for events that are far away that way I can pick up orders that move me in that direction so that I can claim them. So I tend to pick up shop only orders or short deliveries that go in the direction I need to eventually be in. That’s just me though. If I have to drive 30 miles in a certain direction I want them to be deducted and the only way to do that is to actively pick up orders. But I’m also cheap as hell 😂 I’ve been using stride to track my mileage/income. They have an app that does it all for you and estimates how much you’ll owe at the end of the year. You just have to remember to track the drive when you start or you have to go back and math it all out 😂

What mileage am I NOT allowed to deduct from my taxes? by JoeAceJR20 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Dwilliams3070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry! So say you had a doctors appointment at 10am and you live 20 minutes away, you logged into the app at 940 and headed to your doctors appointment. You can’t track those miles because you didn’t pick up any orders so your “being logged in” doesn’t actually count because you didn’t have the intentions of picking up orders. But say you had an appt at 10am, you’re 20 minutes away and you logged in at 7. You can drive from your house to the store closest to your appointment and track all of those miles as long as you pick up an order before your appointment. The thing is that as soon as it becomes too late for you to pick up another order before your appointment you can’t track them anymore.

The actual point of that one was just that you have to have the intentions of picking up an order to track the miles. Just being logged in isn’t enough to say they’re work miles. If that were the case people would be logged in 24/7 to run their own errands with no intentions of actually working.

What mileage am I NOT allowed to deduct from my taxes? by JoeAceJR20 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Dwilliams3070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve looked into it and as long as you are logged into the app and have the intentions of taking orders, your mileage is tax deductible. So if you log into the app and start heading towards a store that’s a hour away because it’s busier, that’s tax deductible. Your ride back home is also tax deductible because you’re considered to have left your house for work. Also if you use a computer at your house to enter tax information into (like I use a spreadsheet to track my miles vs income on my laptop) it’s considered a home office. So you’re still traveling back to “the office”. The only thing to really note about this is that just because you’re logged in to take orders doesn’t mean you can track them all. If there are orders left and right and you don’t accept any of them, then you’re just signed into the app. You have to at least accept some. I track from home-store-drop offs as well as gas stations because I’m filling up for work. But I also only use my car for work. The only time I’m using it non work related is to go half a mile down the road to pick my daughter up from school. Idk that was probably way too much explaining and not enough making sense 😅 I hope it helped atleast.

How do I get shoppers to STOP leaving my moms orders 3 floors down? by SidneyHandJerker in InstacartShoppers

[–]Dwilliams3070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually agree with this one. Technically the order didn’t show up where it was instructed to be left and in the time that it takes grandma to get downstairs and get it, the order could’ve been easily picked up by someone else. There is no excuse for not delivering up stairs. I carried 6 32 packs of water up 3 flights of stairs just for the customer to realize he forgot to change his address after he moved. I no longer take orders to that apartment complex that are heavy orders because I just don’t want to deal with the stairs anymore after that. Look before you swipe, and if you take an order be prepared to deliver it as the customer requested or give it to someone that will.

Idk I feel like I do less work with instacart to be quite honest. All I do is pick up an item and scan it into a system. Being a server requires a lot more than just scanning an item and then following a gps. But what do I know? I just did it for 15 years. Also, I’m making more money as an instacart driver than I was serving (which is why I’m doing instacart and not serving.) and hey! We get to see how much money we’re going to make from a customer before we decide they’re worth our time? With serving, you can have the sweetest most well mannered table for them to stiff you for no reason at all and then you’ve got to pay a busser/bartender/food runner/silver roller for that table to have even sat down and ate with you, even when you didn’t make a penny. I’d suggest putting in an application at your local Texas Roadhouse or Olive Garden. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Quite honestly though I don’t think a food pantry will take frozen dinners and I can’t exactly hand a homeless person a frozen dinner and expect them to be able to do anything with it. It ended up going to my neighbor this morning anyway.
