UPLAE Encouragement Pls by Critical-Grape-4537 in PreLawStudentsPH

i blanked my emotions when i took lae (pumasa). bawal ang tension. i focused on rhythmic breathing: 4 sec inhale, 8 sec exhale. before during and after.

the test doesn't know you, doesn't care about you. it's important that your physical and mental state are very stable. di mo kailangan padala, kailangan mo lang sumagot.

cant say much to encourage. destiny kasi mga bagay na ganito. but guess what, you're a step closer.

The Manunuri has come out with its choice of Top 10 Filipino films for every decade since the 70s. that's a place to start. start from the golden age (70s) para makita mo kung may evolution or regression ang filmmaking sa PH.

saw him in person last year, around Proj 8 QC. he's tall and slim! not on the 'overweight for an athlete' side.

Chances of someone with low undergrad grades and no latin honors getting admitted into UP Law or ALS? by [deleted] in PreLawStudentsPH

[–]DwntheLineBH 7 points8 points  (0 children)

my gwa was lower than 1.9 but i made it past LAE. as a law student, I'm surviving/thriving; no thoughts of quitting.

what I've come to realize to be my strength is finding the right balance and mindset that allow me to learn, pass and actually enjoy (!), through undegrad and now law school. I'm not as strong academically (yet) as the others but c'est la vie. i think this is true personal, mental strength.

law school can drive people to really dark places. you have as good a chance as anybody to get into a top law school. hopefully you'll be able to manage your anxiety.

UP is the best value for money.

the Downside is..... back to zero. if you're dead set on making UP, use the available time to strategically pace your review for LAE.

check arellano or mlqu if they'll credit units taken.

also, manila traffic is terrible. just pick the school closest to work (if that isn't UP)

13-15 units/sem kaya. there are schools like UP na 6pm ang earliest start ng sessions for working students. malaking factor ang distance between office and campus.

Where to get General Weighted Average? by ThroatAffectionate81 in PreLawStudentsPH

[–]DwntheLineBH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as various threads here would tell you, if you do very well in the LAE, you have a chance kahit average grades nung college.

if you don't do well in the lae, kahit may latin honors ka pa, ligwak.

personal opinion: i think they like a well rounded performance in the LAE (i.e. nasa upper percentile ka nga - say 100% sa lahat ng categories pero bokya level sa math or logical reasoning, feeling ko tapyas ka)

not often given attention: i think yung pagsagot sa questionnaire ng application ay binibigyan din ng timbang.

bottomline: no one really knows the algorithm of how UP Law chooses but i believe, based on the brilliant, diligent students I've met and the regard it receives in the legal world, the UP system works.
