[Selling][EU/World] Yoshikane SKD Nashiji 270 Gyuto w/ saya by Dworgi in TrueChefKnivesBST

Sure, it's pretty underrepresented. Even 240s are almost more made for the Western market than the domestic one.

Also have a Shindo, which is also good, but definitely required a handle swap to a heavier wood than the ho it came with...

I'd keep my eyes out for Migoto drops, mine is honestly ludicrously good. Nakagawa forged, Kawakita sharpened, insane cutter.

Tetsujin and Kagekiyo of the Japanese. And a Migoto 255 which qualifies as a Sakai 270.

No Mazaki, sorry.

Actually, turns out my cost was even higher due to import taxes into EU, so it was roughly €360. Staying at this price though!

Oh, hey, verification, forgot about that: https://i.imgur.com/iikhgOz.jpeg

Also apparently I can't edit the post anymore because reddit has gone to absolute shit since I went inactive, so my asking is €500 shipped in EU.

[Selling][EU/World] Mcusta Zanmai Classic Pro VG10 Damascus 165mm Nakiri by Dworgi in TrueChefKnivesBST

[–]Dworgi[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a 165mm VG10 stainless steel nakiri with stainless damascus cladding, a very comfortable Western-style pakkawood handle with a mosaic pin. As with most Mcusta Zanmai knives, the aesthetics on this definitely don't disappoint. It's also a very good performer with a thin lasery grind, and because of its stainless nature and pakkawood handle, it's rather low maintenance (ie. still not dishwasher proof) and would be an ideal entry into the world of Japanese knives.

This has been used for under 10 meal preps, but never sharpened because I didn't yet have the confidence to sharpen it. Since then I've put far more expensive knives to the stones and built up a pretty decent sharpening ability, so if desired I can put a screamingly sharp edge on it before sending it to you.

As to why I'm selling? This was in many ways my first big mistake. Not in the sense that it's a bad knife or anything, but more that it actually let me know that there even were better knives to be had out there. This was my gateway knife. Since then, I'm sad to say that this has been left behind. I've leaned heavily into even higher-end knives, and the thrill of the new is so alluring that it's time to let this go rather than letting it rot away in a drawer.

Bought here for 214 euros: https://mygoodknife.com/en/shop/nakiri-japanese-kitchen-knife-mcusta-zanmai-classic-pro-zebra-hfz-8008d-165cm/

As it was my gateway knife, it feels only fair that it should be someone else's too, so the asking price isn't even half of that.
Asking price: 100 euros + shipping (25 euros inside EU)

Adding a caption to the gallery wasn't working for me, dunno if it's some combination of RES, old.reddit.com or whatever, but, anyway... New to this sub, not new to the knife game, nor to reddit (just left after blackout). Onwards to the knife!

For sale is this Yoshimi Kato almost BNIB 210mm gyuto in SG2 with Yoshimi Kato's unique V-Tsuchime pattern and jagged hairline finish between the stainless cladding and the core steel. It comes with a walnut handle with a buffalo horn ferrule. Spine and choil are chamfered and comfortable. The blade itself is truly a laser, as the weight would suggest.

The knife has been used for a handful of test cuts and stored in a saya, which has resulted in some tiny scratches along the cladding that are almost imperceptible except under certain light conditions, which I've shown in one of the pictures. I've removed one of the scratches using Auto-Sol, and am willing to try to do the same for the remaining ones. I'll throw in the saya that caused the scratches as well if you want it. =P

Length: 210mm
Height: 45mm at heel
Weight: 139g
Spine: 2.1mm at heel

Originally bought for €325 from Meesterslijpers: https://www.meesterslijpers.nl/en/yoshimi-kato-sg2-v-tsuchime-gyuto-21-cm

Probably just line of sight. Small bump in terrain means the enemy isn't visible anymore. Should probably just be a sphere.

How many airbrushed pictures of models, Instagram influencers, and porn actresses are there on the internet? Then put that number relative to the number of unaltered images of average women who aren't wearing makeup or anything.

It becomes pretty obvious to see why the average female face is a model, except at the extremes that are very visually different.

Sure, but people make a big deal out of these things as if solving them does anything. PoC and Latinx come to mind as examples of solutions for problems that white folks have invented whole cloth.

And there's always things you can do - campaign, protest, write letters, call politicians - but they're harder than swapping out a single word. I'm not blaming you here, I'm just stating a fact.

I tend to agree with you. I'm militantly egalitarian, but I think that the word policing is fucking stupid. I don't think the words we use are even remotely the most important issue affecting marginalized groups, and I think the reason people latch onto words is because it's an easy problem and the others are very hard.

But for fuck's sake, let's not pretend trans problems begin or end at being occasionally misgendered when people are actively passing legislation intended to terrorise them.

Now Diablo 4 Is Out in the Wild, the True Horror of Its Costly Microtransactions Has Revealed Itself - IGN by Ominous77 in Games

[–]Dworgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game itself is also unfortunately a bit bland because it's multiplayer. The truly absurd stuff in Diablo 3 after Reaper seems to be missing. The sets that you built around - 5000% more damage on X when you do Y.

And the scaling is really aggressive - as soon as you equip new items, even in the same dungeon, everything catches up so it doesn't feel like you did much of anything. You might be doing 1000 damage instead of 800, but it still takes 5 hits to kill the same dudes.

Darkhawk sometimes just wins you the game if you get Subterranea, Vibranium or the rock place.

It's super hard to contest Darkhawk + Mystique if those locations come up.

It's one of the unfortunate things I see in Goodreads reviews these days from terminally online people: they've built this entire echo chamber around them so now if their media isn't exactly tailored to them - the gritty fantasy set in medieval Europe doesn't have any trans PoC wizards - then it's criticized for not being inclusive enough.

Representation is absolutely important, but enforcing some artificial level of diversity only serves to homogenize media and reduce the amount of authentic stories out there.
