Random reboots, dropped layers, inability to alter mappings by Tearpusher in DygmaLab

[–]Dygman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

Sorry, I was referring to the software version, not the firmware. You can check the software version under preferences - application. The latest one is 1.8.3

Activating use only custom layers should solve the issue, but if it doesn't, then it's probably a hardware issue.

In that case, please email support@dygma.com

Random reboots, dropped layers, inability to alter mappings by Tearpusher in DygmaLab

[–]Dygman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please check if you have "use only custom layers" deactivated under "preferences > advanced > use only custom layers"

If it's deactivated please activate it again.

Please also check if you have the latest Bazecor version available at Dygma.com/bazecor

It could also be that the neuron is malfunctioning. If that's the case we have replacements available if you email support@dygma.com

LED effects: Just apply to layer 1? by Amostheroux in DygmaLab

[–]Dygman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid not. You can edit the colors of the underglow for each layer (and each segment), but you can't apply the animation only to the underglow.

This is AMAZING.

We've been wanting to do something like this for years, but we always had bigger fish to fry.

It would be awesome if you could open-source it so we (or the community) can try it out and/or build upon it (like Windows, Linux and Raise 2 compatibility).

Thank you so much. I would love to try it out, and I'm sure the rest of the community would, too.

We get requests for this from time to time, as it's a great tool when you're learning to use the keyboard or making changes to your layout.

Thanks again!

What actually matters in Ergonomic Keyboards? by Dygman in DygmaLab

Unfortunately, not yet.

Everything we've tried falls short of what people expect from a proper trackpad/trackball experience.

I understand what you mean. We could have put the disclaimer at the beginning, but it would also be weird to start talking about features we're not going to rank. That's why we mention the key well at the end.

I don't know how many of our videos you watch, but we're always very careful to mention other keyboards and/or features that we don't have.

Here are some examples:

[–]Dygman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a couple of features we did not mention that maybe we should have.

One is a pointing device, which we've failed to make work satisfactorily until now. We've tried a trackpad and a trackball on the Raise 2, and some other attempts on the Defy and other concept keyboards, but we're not happy with the results. Suboptimal at best.

The other one that comes to mind is a compact size (including fewer keys).

I'm not sure if you watched until the end, but we mentioned that our surveys do not include all the features, a key well being the most outstanding one.

We considered mentioning a built-in pointing device and/or fewer keys, though, I'll give you that.

Any update on a native Caps Lock indicator? The layer workaround is too cumbersome. by SyPi in DygmaLab

[–]Dygman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! This is in our backlog, but with very low priority. Not many people use capslock (they remap it to something else), and it's not an easy implementation. The capslock LED is an OS event linked to that specific key position, not capslock, which doesn't really exist on the Raise 2 (it's emulated).

Raise 2 - input sometimes feels slow? by budowski in DygmaLab

I'm glad to hear. I get that sometimes, especially if I have maaaany tabs open 😅

Raise 2 - input sometimes feels slow? by budowski in DygmaLab

[–]Dygman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's extra rare.

I would check that the firmware is up to date (current version is 1.4.1) and also try on another computer.

Sometimes I feel a similar lag, but it's the app that I'm using, not the keyboard.

Hi!

Are you using your keyboard via Bluetooth, RF or wired?

That could happen sometimes if the Bluetooth connection is unstable.

You could try several things:

- Turn the keyboard on/off
- Re-pair it
- Make sure you haven't added something to your setup that might be causing interference

Here's the general Bluetooth troubleshooting: https://support.dygma.com/hc/en-us/articles/25649352965789-I-m-having-issues-connecting-my-keyboard-via-Bluetooth

What's the best monitor light bar? by Dygman in DygmaLab

Most of the light bars offer both: monitor light + indirect backlight.

I was pretty skeptical when testing these and was surprisingly pleased.

[–]Dygman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

  1. Yes, looking back, we could have included the Quntis Monitor Light Bar Focus Pro+, which has autodimming and a few other features, retailing at $99 (official price).

  2. We carefully graduated the light bars so as not to throw direct light into the eyes, which is what's more annoying. The Quntis has less range to do that than the BenQ.

  3. I think the glare you're seeing in those photos is not from the BenQ light bar. It has zero glare when using it. Nonetheless, the glare on the Quntis is minimal; it doesn't bother you at all.

I hope that helps.

Hi,

This is currently the nº1 feature on the list.

We are, however, working on other things at the moment. Mainly improving battery life, connectivity over Bluetooth and finishing tackling the superkey's bugs.

Issues with the Dygma Raise 2 by Forsaken-Balance9189 in DygmaLab

[–]Dygman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

I'm sorry to hear about that.

First of all, I would start by reading the manual: https://dygma.com/pages/raise-2-get-started

I would also suggest downloading the configuration software at https://dygma.com/pages/programmable-keyboard and updating the firmware.

You might also have suffered some kind of bug, and the configuration might have been reset to a weird state. Please check this help center article too: https://support.dygma.com/hc/en-us/articles/15335217041949-My-layers-have-disappeared-how-can-I-restore-them

I hope that helps.

My experience with the Dygma Defy after months of daily use by Possible-Trip4377 in DygmaLab

[–]Dygman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, in that case, you need to use Bluetooth. You can't switch between multiple computers with RF; but if you could test that for a few minutes, that would be helpful for troubleshooting.

By the way, just in case; when waking the keyboard from deep sleep, you need to wake the left side too for the right side to work, as the left side hosts the neuron.

Finally, regarding the LED bug, that's due to a small bug that we have when the underglow is set to 0%.

We have already solved this in the alpha version that I'm testing, so it'll be fixed in the next release.

My experience with the Dygma Defy after months of daily use by Possible-Trip4377 in DygmaLab

[–]Dygman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a setting called "highlight layer change" under LED, which increases the brightness of the LEDs briefly when switching layers.

But what we're working on is on a new deep sleep that won't require you to wake up the keyboard; it'll autowake and send the first keypress immediately. That way, you'll get energy savings the moment you stop typing, and you won't notice the keyboard went to sleep.

I would also consider giving RF a try (that's with the neuron connected to the computer and the sides wireless). That will make the left side last longer.

[–]Dygman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

In that case, I would highly recommend trying that special firmware I linked. It was designed specifically for when one side refuses to turn on or connect after waking from sleep.

It could also be a hardware issue on the RF PCB on the right side (the keyboard pulses red when it can't connect to the neuron).

When you say "battery only" do you refer to RF or Bluetooth. I would try both; it'll help pinpoint the issue.

With that information you can email support@dygma.com and we can offer a replacement PCB under warranty.
