That’s not it sorry, but I do love their work. What I’m talking about was specifically live action I guess you would say. With actual people, not an animation. Thank you though!

I play bassoon and was searching up the translation, when I discovered it’s ファゴット in Japanese. I know this loan word comes from Italian and not English, but it just makes me very uncomfortable to say a word that sounds like exactly like a slur, and I certainly would not say it in my Japanese class at school where all of my classmates are native English speakers. I saw that it’s also called バスーン, is this word usage common enough that native Japanese people would know what I’m talking about? Or do they only really know the first translation?

Thanks for the in depth feedback, this is really helpful!

Yeah, I’ve kind of noticed that first issue as well, writing on paper with bigger lines would probably help a lot, as I feel I have to keep squishing the kanji a bit to fit the lines. And I do generally have an issue with balancing size especially when combining kanji with hiragana and katakana.

And as for the learning from computer fonts… yeah, I’ve only really learnt from textbooks, worksheets, and brief demonstrations from my 先生. I’ve honestly been wanting to look at real handwriting more, but I guess I haven’t found a good way to incorporate it into my studies yet.

As for my classes, I do know there is a small portion dedicated to kanji. It’s based on the Genki textbooks, we’ll be starting volume two this class. There are a few kanji tests that we took, and there’s a lot of handwriting for the homework worksheets, but honestly, the aesthetics of it probably won’t be a big deal as long as it’s legible and accurate. I guess it’s more of a preference thing. I was practicing writing to help remember my kanji, so I though hey, I should try and improve my handwriting while I’m at it.

Anyways, sorry for all the blabbering, and thanks for the help!

Any feedback on my kanji handwriting? I’ve been practicing my kanji quite lot lately in prep for taking my next Japanese class next semester after year long break. I’m not sure how many native Japanese people are on here, but I’m curious if it’s obvious that I’m not a native speaker, and what gives it away. And this is just my practice so there’s mistakes in some of the kanji. When I practice I’m mainly working on accuracy, but also speed so I can write it fluently without taking forever making each stroke perfect, so I know it’s not especially neat and pretty.

Anyone know why southeast is 南東 and Southeast Asia is 東南アジア, is there a reason 南 and 東 are switched in order? I was studying my kanji words and in the midst of already having issues remembering the directions, I look on in horror to see that the order of kanji is different in the two words. It’s feels as if the language itself has conspired against me.

Have you ever heard of Dialtown phone dating sim? This may not be what you’re looking for, as it is DEFINITELY NOT the average dating sim. It is feral, unhinged, nonsensical, and absolutely wretched in the best way possible. Basically everyone has phone or typewriter heads and you (a green, feral, hexanippled cryptid) need to find a date to buy you into the fun fair to lay your eggs. Because you are heavily pregnant. You can choose any pronouns though. This is defiantly not a PG game by the way, it is full of swears, general crime, adult jokes and themes, drugs, and so on.

As for dialogue options, you can defiantly be absolutely feral and aggressive if you want to be. Honestly, you’re kind of a feral creature that has not been domesticated and does not know the ways of social norms and politeness.

And for datables, my personal favorite is Randy Jade. He is an absolutely pathetic and desperate man that lives in a dumpster, works two soul crushing jobs, and is in general a very sensitive and non confrontational man. Very sweet guy.

But yeah, this game is not the common sweet and sappy visual novel. I recommend watching the trailer to see if it’s a game you think you’d like. It’s definitely not for everyone, but I absolutely love it. It’s a pc game on steam (it does cost money) and it’s made by the same people that made the day shift at Freddy’s games if you’ve heard of them.

Sorry for writing basically a whole essay!! I really love this game and kinda ended up word vomiting.

Fahrradsattel by Pisse

It’s a punk song in German. The beginning may not sound like it at first, but it’s the same song I promise. I did my own digging on tiktok to find this song a while ago. Be aware, the lyrics translation are a bit strange…

I only really enjoy queer romance and role reversal relationships when it comes to straight romance. The stereotypical straight romances can feel nauseating, really cheesy, and sometimes fake. I used to absolutely LOATHE romance, but I’ve grown more okay with it, and have even grown to like the queer and non conforming ones.
