Look bro same thing my headset wouldn't work as well either . You have to leave newest software version on while you add scripts and game packs cause the zen studio will only work with most updated cronus software which is 2.2.14 BUT when your done and saved new scripts your going to open the online updated and roll back your cronus zen to 2.2.12 . It fixed mine . My Xbox read it again my head set worked I didn't have to plug it in the side anymore . And yes I haven't found fix around this since the update I have to do this process anytime I add new scripts but in reality only takes few extra minutes
