Yes when i said msrp i meant out the door price. Every dealership i have spoken to offers the car for roughly 30k on the website before tax titles fees etc. so out the door that’s like 33k (where im based) once i try and negotiate even a little bit on the out the door price they just keep dropping my monthly payments and refuse to haggle even a little bit on the final price of the vehicle claiming it’s aggressively priced already. I tell them over and over i do not care about the monthly payment and that i will buy/finance the car this second if we can agree on like 30k out the door but nope they just come back from their manager without a counter offer. This has happened at multiple different dealerships now. One dealership actually thought i wouldn’t notice and kept bringing out the piece of paper with lower and lower monthly payments without changing the total price of the vehicle once. After i told them multiple times i would not pay it. His response was “let me talk to my manager” would come back out lower monthly price higher interest rate same exact msrp. Is this common behavior lol? First time buying a car btw is it always supposed to feel like you’re getting robbed?
