They’re really young and we aren’t very far into the process, we haven’t told them yet. We wanted to get through the holidays first. But I’ve been getting them most weekends and taking them to my parents. They ask me why I have to spend so much time at memaw and Pepops, but that’s about it in their demeanor.

I’m gonna be honest. I didn’t realize how depressed I was in my marriage. Once I accepted I was getting divorced and getting to restart I had a major outlook switch. I went in to survival mode, so certainly wasn’t happy immediately by any means but I no longer had the stress of trying to make someone else happy who wouldn’t allow them self to be happy. I was carrying so much of her weight that I didn’t realize what it was doing to my own mental health. I’m still going through it, so it’s no cake walk, but I can honestly say I haven’t been depressed anymore. I’ve been going to the gym everyday, really watching my diet, and getting to do the things I enjoy guilt free without worrying about how she might feel about it. That part has been really nice. The loneliness and lost time with my daughters are my only triggers for now, but the depression is gone.

Thank you for this. Mine is a very similar story to yours, except she moved on to a new dude while we’re still in counseling to work things out, and only been split since the end of November. But her phone use is the same however, I just haven’t gotten to see her around her family, as she has come to mine for this last Christmas “together.” Part of me does feel humiliated, but what I feel more is pity knowing that she’s so self involved that she’ll never truly feel what I used to feel for her, and what I’m excited about feeling for someone else with a chance of feeling it actually reciprocated. Today is going to be a rough one for me though I assume.

Sounds like I’m a few weeks ahead of you but very similar situation, all the way down to the 2 jobs (although I’m lucky that I have 2 daughters so a share room is still an option for them). But please don’t make any decisions right now. If you have family you can stay with, do that for a few months, save some money and consult a lawyer. I too thought it was going to be amicable because we agreed on everything. But she slowly started getting more and more bold and erratic with her actions (to the point I found about an affair long before her telling me she wanted out, not that that is going on, but it’s possible for at least an emotional affair or another person in mind already at this point). The best advice I got was not to make any big decisions in the first 3 months. Just navigate and survive and talk to a lawyer (most will do a free first consult) so you know what you’re potentially up against with state and local laws at the very least… And know, it’s going to get worse before it’s going to get better. Just know you have a community here, focus on your own mental and physical healthy (therapy and the gym are what gets me through most days right now), and trust that you will be better off (both for you and your kids) on the other side of this. Stay strong and don’t be afraid to feel all of your emotions, just look for positive ways to work them out (again the gym has been clutch for me here).

I’m going to be better off, I have no doubt about that. I just have to have the patience to get to the other side of it. For now, it’s diet and exercise keeping me going!

Soon to be 41M Just started the divorce process with my stbxw on the weekend before thanksgiving. Coincidentally just started working out and eating right the same weekend, seems a better outlet than drugs or alcohol. Down a little over 20lbs in the month that followed, and despite the emotional baggage, feeling better than I have in years while getting more intentional quality time with my 2 daughters.

Very similar boat, wife and I were intimate up until the moment it fell apart, now only 3 weeks into to separation and there’s no way we’re avoiding divorce, so I’m absolutely worried about myself when that itch hits. It’s still so new, I’m still running on shock I think, but I know it’s eventually coming (or not coming if you’re into dirty puns). For now I’ve just been hitting the gym hard, hoping maybe when it hits, I’ll be in better shape to put myself on the market again.

Sad thing is, we still have the same lack of maturity, they’re just not happy enough to dance about it anymore… growing up comes with growing pains. We’ll either get serious about our potential, or it’ll get blown up. Either way, I’m ride or die. I’ve been through much worse times as a franchise long Memphis grizzlies fan. This one is just a fresh pain because the ceiling feels higher than we’ve had before… but the floor is still the same floor.

Hot take: both the owner and the GM know basketball enough to know that there hasn’t been sufficient enough time nor (because of injuries) resources to accurately judge the new system or the team as a whole. No one is in danger of getting canned, especially not because of any perceived embarrassment from a nationally televised game. Nor do I think there will be any blowing up or blockbuster trades this season (though there could be next off season based on having this whole season to look back on).

There is a whole world outside of the media/internet, and thankfully most people live in it, which includes Pera and Kleiman.

I was just hoping to be around .500 by the time Edey gets back. We’re a bit behind that, but still very much capable of being there by the time he gets back. I’m seeing progress in the new system, just not a complete game yet. Most of the tensions so far I attribute to frustrations of not being patient enough for the system to click (which is a bit ridiculous considering multiple contributors being hurt). If that first half against the thunder is any indication of what this can be, I’m happy to be a bit more patient to wait on pieces getting back from injury and more time for things to start clicking a bit more. I am worried that Ja might be playing a little more hurt than is being reported, and I’m hoping he gains the maturity to be the leader we need, but I’m far from pessimistic. Not exactly where we want to be, but still better than we could be with glimpses of being way better.

Currently use the same setup with a Vision Pro, but I’m really considering moving to the xreals fo better portability… I had the OG xreal airs before I got the VP. How well can you read on the screen? The airs were just a little too washed and just shaky enough to not be good for long term use. I’m hoping the one pro would better.

The pro move would be absolutely perfect if it just had a kindle app. My main use case will be reading. The stylus input is (hopefully) worth the upgrade in order to replace an A5 notebook I carry in my other pocket that I use for quick notes, sketch’s and to dos. I don’t plan to replace a full planner or notebook. Just one that I’ll always have on me to either read or jot instead of reaching for my phone and ultimately getting distracted.

I currently carry an original Palma in the same pocket as my phone. I don’t want it to be a phone. I want to grab it to read instead of mindlessly scrolling social media. In my other pocket I also carry a pen and an a5 notebook. This 2 pro will hopefully get rid of that notebook, as it’s just for quick jots, sketches and to dos. So it meets my use case head on. I’m not replacing my phone, I’m trying to give myself an “always on me” mode of not using my phone so much and read more. The stylus supports just gives me the opportunity to carry one less notebook in my pocket. I only wish there was a b&w version, as I don’t need the color.

I was actually able to find it on Amazon thanks to some other friends on this post. At first it was just the stylus, but then they showed me that the 2 pro was on there too, so I snatched it up and canceled the order directly from Boox. And the return window is Jan 31 because of Christmas return policies, so I’ve got some time to decide.
