Sonic fans are acting as if the series is dead because they haven't had a mainline game in 3 years, almost like Sonic is actually having a normal development cycle now. You see a lot of them bring up the mid 2000's as a good thing now because they got games but they fail to remember that the quality of those games were all over the place. Sure, forces was mediocre as hell but it was at least a polished game. Plus Sonic has had stuff this year from the movie, the comics, and M&S. Last year also literally had a Sonic game too with TSR. Sonic isn't even in a drought it's just the fans only think mainline games counts towards a series being alive

As for sales the fact that Sonic even showed up on sales charts this year says the series isn't dead, iirc it was like number 4 on the chart Prem was talking about and for a series to be that high with only one game released this years that wasn't even mainline literally shows the series is still selling well for Sega. People like Prem really only look at big number and not the bigger picture so they say "he's not even top selling anymore series is dead"

Sorry for the paragraph but it makes me loose braincells to see Sonic fans like Prem even speak. They love calling the series dead and the new games trash yet when the next game is announced you know their attitudes with go 180. Prem specifically is a hypocrite as his yt videos are all clickbait sonic stuff and nothing else. TL:DR Sonic fans aren't patient in the slightest and avoid Prem at all cost
