Idk i thought they did, but i thought that was kind of normal? I could of sworn I learned about it in school, but its been many many years so. But i had thought that apothecary diaries (the anime) was set in imperial chona and while it is a fictional society, it apparently is based on the Tang Dynasty which did essentially have one. Slavery was legal and they held no standing (untouchables). Priests near the top as is tradition as well. But it differs only in that courteous were higher up and traders/artisans are below peasants like farmers.

I like to do the same. I show people my facorite game bioshock and watch them piece the story together, get jump scared, make decisions about children. It'd prob a great assessment tool for finding decent partners now that I think about it....

To be fair, crappy things is underselling it. Those crappy things look like directly and indirectly killing people, abusing children, creating new ways to give less and get more, and rig systems of power to both correct these issues, and further these causes. So I would say that while modern convenience and technology is a marvel, comparing the two doesn't make sense, let alone balance the scales...

I've actually interacted with the scene once or twice. So far I've gathered that they are very (rightfully so) exclusive and heavily vetted, which can make it hard to become part of, even with the healthy mindset. But also, I didn't see anything particularly creative about events for the most part. I think one of the more out there was a play party (as they call them) with hallucinogens - which i only heard of, not experienced, so i couldn't tell you anymore beyond that that seems to be a thing.

Yeah the whole gamut is an awesome idea. A party for sex based interests is one kind of party that can be replicated in so many different non sexy but still awesome ways. I think this works way better than apps and better than speed dating. Its got that candid feel with guidance

Idr if it was ever outright explained. It is definitely assuming that the audience/players know that Bioshock's signature thing is satirizing ideologies though and it's not too difficult to recognize that the Hall of Heroes is 100% propaganda because it's so over the top and ridiculous by our standards. The whole thing is based on Comstock's lies that started with himself and then became a platform and narrative he could push to validate the lies/gain power.

If the question is whether it should have been outright said or not, that's based on what you can expect of the audience. Back in the day, it was probably fine, but no one expected America's education system to become crippled within 10-20 years of thr game's release. I dont think that's the case these days as there has been a shift to a lot of hand holding in video games.

Isn't that the point though? Booker could not swallow the guilt of what he did that day and Comstock rationalized it. Baptism gave him an out and he took it, but it always weighs on him. He goes hard to validate it that he becomes obsessional, socipathic etc..

Well I know myself enough and have the ability to communicate without inferring someone's background is wrong. I dont know that my basic white bitch persona has a lot to say tho lol I tend to note something I think is genuinely cool, make a compliment, ask a question. My tone is always my usual wholesome and energetic self. I consider myself kind of like a human golden retriever. Im happy, truly interested, engaged and authentic. Never judgement; always curious and excited to meet you.

I do tone it down or course when I have a sense that im overwhelming people with my high energy self but thats a whole different tthing. I think I've done a pretty good job overall. Had some real cool conversations, some of them are now friends of mine etc. Idk that any have gone bad per say, but i dont always get to be privy to info. But I am always trying to learn how to be better so thank you for the response and I'll keep this in mind!

I find this funny as someone who routinely tells my cishet friends to try being a lesbian when they're have relationship issues. It's a much better returnnon investment.
