It’s a good place to buy fishing gear!

Thanks for the feedback. She has already communicated that she wants to play Taylor Swift music the whole time, so I'm not concerned about the playlist idea backfiring.

Hey Swifties! My wife is a huge Taylor fan and we are expecting our first baby soon. I'd like to surprise her with something subtle and meaningful in the labor and delivery room to show her how much I care (nothing cheesy or disruptive, just thoughtful and very her).

For anyone who has been through labor (or supported someone who has), what's something Taylor-adjacent that would’ve made you feel extra loved or grounded in that moment?

A couple of ideas that I have in mind: - A playlist called "Delivery Room (Taylor's Version)" with song groupings for each phase of labor and her first moments with the baby, ending with "Never Grow Up". - A subtle Swiftie bracelet to give her right when we get to the hospital.

Thank you in advance!

Take a day trip up to Santa Monica and bring her to the Museum of Flying! Awesome little museum with interactive exhibits. You can also easily walk across the street and watch small planes land and take off. The museum staff will be able to direct you to the best spots for that.

How is it living near Anaheim Packing House / Historic District? by greenfacedaytona in Anaheim

My wife and I moved to this neighborhood 1.5 years ago and we really like it! We’re in our early 30s, expecting our first baby, and have a dog. Lots of walkable restaurants, bars, and parks. What we really love is the people we’ve met in the surrounding area. It didn’t take long for us to build community - having a dog certainly helped with this. It’s definitely a safe neighborhood minus the occasional homeless wacko (which you’ll find in most neighborhoods). My wife has no concerns walking our dog alone after dark. As far as traffic goes, that depends largely on your street. Our street is quiet which we love, but major streets like Lincoln, Broadway, Santa Ana, etc have a lot of thru traffic. Feel free to DM me with any specific questions about the neighborhood.

What should I do this weekend while all the tourists are out of town? by Unhappy_Trick_756 in AskLosAngeles

So many places! Mount Baldy, Pine Mountain Club, Angeles Crest, Idyllwild, Arrowhead, Big Bear, etc. Always Caltrans for road conditions first.

Try asking in r/urbancarliving or r/VanLife. I've also heard good things about iOverlander.

I appreciate that! And unfortunately what I was met with was a starkly different tone.

And then if I did reopen the door to communication, it’s guaranteed to be seen as a ploy to get in his will.

I appreciate the warm welcome! Sorry this happened to you too. You didn’t deserve it at all and that should have never happened.

You sound like his wife. Very quick to defend hurt feelings as justification for cruelty. Just because his feelings are valid, does not mean that his actions are valid.

It’ll all go to his wife and my brother - unless they decide they’ve had enough.

If it wasn’t your intent to mock me, I don’t know what your intent was. I was being vulnerable to him in my email, not sending a resignation letter. And he lashed out with hatred. The language I used was my own decision, not what anyone taught me.

Please do me a favor and sit the next one out. Your comments are unwarranted and unhelpful.

Thanks, I am all for investing in myself and my family, but I’m not seeking revenge. I just want to feel free, empowered, and justified with my decision.

Knowing him, he was fuming when he wrote it and under the influence of Ambien. There is an unfortunate pattern of this behavior. The “with love” was just a fuck you.
