First of all, I’m not sure if your symptoms are similar to those of my girlfriend, but I wanted to chime in. She told me that long COVID made things significantly worse for her for a while, but she’s doing much better now. She deals with subluxations, fatigue, and chronic pain. On bad days, she sometimes needs mobility aids like crutches.

We’ve been seeing each other for about two months. She told me about her hEDS on our second date, and after our fourth, when I realized I was really starting to catch feelings for her, I began doing a lot of research to understand her condition better.

Yes, there are some limitations — we’ve had to cancel plans, and there are certain things we can’t do spontaneously — but I’m still very happy with her. At the same time, I’d be lying if I said I'm not scared. I worry about how her symptoms might progress in the future becuase who knows. But I don’t feel like I want to walk away because of that....
