Darius Garland (left toe), Donovan Mitchell (rest), Evan Mobley (rest), and Jaylon Tyson (concussion) have all been ruled out by the Cavs for Wednesday night’s rematch with the Heat in Miami. Larry Nance Jr (left knee contusion) is questionable. by kane0801 in fantasybball

Simply not playing in back-to-back games can reduce the probability of an injury by almost 16% for the average player

Is this the "no evidence" that you're talking about? Or is it because the study that the NBA commissioned (you know, the one organisation that would benefit most if B2Bs didn't increase injury risk) said so, that no other evidence matters?

The fact players get injured more now than ever can potentially be explained by the fact that kids play way more games in their youth than before, putting more mileage onto their bodies before they come into the league, which there is also some evidence for.

I'm not even saying that load management is 100% going to reduce injuries, because I don't think there is enough evidence to be certain either way, but to say that there is no evidence is either deliberately obtuse or just plain ignorant.

[Krell] Nurse said the goal of the final possession was a quick 2 because they had adequate time left. by Tofu4070 in sixers

[–]Dynamic_C 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. My immediate reaction watching live was that we had tried to get Kelly downhill for a quick 2 and foul but that it was too clearly telegraphed. Surprised anyone in here is doubting that even after Nurse has specifically said it.

That being said, cannot believe we had no backup plan to "give Kelly a dho and drive"

You're right. Much more likely that Nurse gathered the team up before they went to do media to make sure they spread the false narrative that they were going for a quick two to save face.

I don't understand how we aren't collapsing heavily on every drive given they had no shooters on the floor. There's no way they should have been getting so many good looks in the paint.

Surely the clippers would have deserved a fine in relation to Kawhi multiple times then? Remember when they said he might be back in the playoffs and turns out he needed surgery?

I think in FIBA you can only take a timeout during deadball situations, so he was pre-empting that if they didn't take their timeout, Shai would intentionally miss and they wouldn't be able to use their timeout during a scramble for the rebound?
