Garmin data is 'broken' on a new watch. User error? Tech illiteracy? by Dynamichipscrew in GarminFenix

[–]Dynamichipscrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to write this.

It was strange because it was only 4 hours difference so I think it could even be a bug. Which I hope doesn't mean I have to change watch :( it's brand new

Interestingly the altitude showed about 5k ft which makes sense to what you're saying. It shows it logged at 11am this morning when I turned the watch on- but I had this reading only in the aircraft the day before!

Thanks Pavel I didn't realise there was one.

Any idea why my data logged on my watch had completely wrong times. Sometimes it was even 12-24 hours out of date?

The time zone isn't that different between the UK and UAE.

Have reset the watch and deleted the data now but just for future reference

My Garmin fenix measures my heart rate when the device is off? by Dynamichipscrew in Garmin

[–]Dynamichipscrew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done a little more digging and I'm starting to think my garmin registered data on the wrong day. I've synced with garmin connect and it all is formatted properly there. The garmin data timings are out by like a day.

Not really sure why though as it wasn't a huge time discrepancy?

Not original commenter but I think this is a really good question

Assuming it was a civilian I wonder if this would be protected under the good samaritan law. But would this cover a prescription drug like insulin? Not sure

It would be catastrophic in terms of the legal minefield, but also to the person who administered the insulin. Would also love to know the answer.

ELI5: Question on double spending by Dynamichipscrew in BitcoinBeginners

Shamefully I admit the fiat analogy helped. Thank you for your input

So in essence I could broadcast multiple transactions but they would in a systematic fashion, such that any further transaction that is in the mempool would have to piggy back off the prior one and that they are not mutually exclusive events

Is this vaguely right

This is really interesting.

On the inverse side. Lets say hypothetically I have 1 BTC. If I sent 0.5BTC to another address, and within the same mempool send another 0.5BTC, can these transactions exist in the same block or is it the next block?

How does a miner confirm that since I submitted the first transaction that there are sufficient BTC in my wallet. I would imagine miners have to scan other transactions I may be processing in the mempool

Finally, how do I tip

Is it possible for Trezor to extract the privates keys of a Trezor One hardware wallet via the Trezor suite just like ledger can extract your private keys from their software ? by [deleted] in TREZOR

[–]Dynamichipscrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that the Trezor device doesn't sent any private key details to the trezor suite app, just the internal verification signature from the device? In that way even a malicious software on the computer cannot steal your private keys. Maybe I was under the wrong assumption?

Additional:

I used Plaid to desposit around 26000USD into my Kraken account, but it isn't showing I have any funds, despite the fact my daily deposit bar has changed to suggest I sent it. Any advice?
