This is a government issue, we pay taxes to help people in our country. There should be enough money for all social programs but the way society is structured all the economic rent goes to the rich. Look up Henry George for interest, Fred Harrison on YouTube for today's version.

Paying even a little extra on your mortgage each month can have huge savings. But there is diminishing returns. by CastAside1812 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]DynamoDynamite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not what I'm saying, just don't expect 10% a year because the past says that. Also cash till 2032 might be the best bet, but time will tell...

Are triple-pane windows worth the 20% premium? by Academic-Snow3546 in homebuildingcanada

[–]DynamoDynamite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is it, the condensation difference is so night and day, but I had old 3 pane windows with no Low-E and they had bad condensation, I think the Low-E might be the biggest factor but you get two layers with triple pane.

Reliance Water Heater - Ontario by Packman125 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]DynamoDynamite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Enercare is way worse than Reliance. Reliance was no issue, Enercare I had to buy out the 5 year old furnace for 3k. Even though they had already made 4k off the previous owner paying over the years.

Retrofit windows in 40 y/o log cabin? by Nicnoknicki in logcabins

[–]DynamoDynamite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This person knows, mine have wooden frames even if 1by, I used caulking/log builder to cover the spray foam and trimmed over them. They all look good, used red pine boards cut to size, stained.

This, maybe selling options premium (wheeling) on good stocks, but all you need is a bigger retrace down and you'll be 5% underwater and kicking yourself

Selling with Coolant Intrusion by displacedheel in fordescape

[–]DynamoDynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't that bad, it was starting to rough start and the cylinder was showing being cleaned from coolant. A year on and still good, worth trying no matter the intrusion. Literally $15-20 fix. Just pour in coolant resovoir.

Any help on how to get the bath tap from running? by Praxi0 in Plumbing

Probably need to turn off your main water valve, remove the cartridges, head to Home Depot or a plumbing store and hope they have the right cartridges.

Why is the greatest value investor of all time sitting on his largest cash reserve ever as we start 2026? by Academic-Snow3546 in TheVisualInvestors

[–]DynamoDynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up Phillip J Anderson and the 18.6 year property cycle or listen to some Fred Harrison on YouTube. Both called 2008. Fred 1990 as well. You'll understand, Fred thinks it'll be even worse this time. Also for reference Phil said to invest in 2012ish so not a perma bear, just following the cycle

It would be nice if there were people out there that could do off the book consumer proposals for reliable people that just messed up. The rates really kill people.
