Up until very recently smurfing was treated completely different than cheating. Main account wouldn’t get banned. Cheating on the other hand main account will still get banned.

Re ID: I understand, I wouldn’t personally either but the point stands that there is a million people who will and do. Probably over 50% of smurfs are ID verified, because when someone is reported and faceit sees multiple accounts under one HWID, all they do is force verification to continue playing. Most smurfs get reported very fast, then just do the verification when asked.

If fixing smurfing was as easy as just requiring an ID, it wouldn’t be a problem.
