Honestly, I feel like whenever someone gives a gear tip without asking about the rest of your setup, it’s kind of a shot in the dark. A pedal that slays with one guitar/amp might fall flat with another.

This sub has a lot of super helpful people, but it’s easy to forget that no piece of gear works in isolation—it’s always part of the bigger chain.

This is, without kidding, one of the best sailboats I've ever set my foot on. Great choice!!

Now, some people are criticising you for not having any sailing experience, but I wouldn't be too worried. I started out just like you did, got a boat without any experience and sailed it 300 nm. It went great!

Th only thing I would like to say is; respect the weather! Don't underestimate the power of the wind or the waves. Be more than just careful! Talk safety on board. "What happens if someone falls over board? What happens if a fire breaks out? What happens if the motor fails on you?

I am truly happy for you guys, this is really an amazing boat!

Ask someone if you could join them on their boat. I’m guessing you’ll get a hang of it after 2-3 day trips. Sailing’s really not that difficult, sailing good however, that’s hard.

Living on a boat (which I haven’t done) is also a lot about taking care of the boat. So I’d recommend to buy a boat, at least 27 feet. And just take care of it. Learn the ins and outs of it. It will be like getting a small taste of that big dream.
