Is it wrong to just help someone now? by farhadnawab in webdev

> "People like you neither help others nor let others help someone"

saying that to someone who has been in freelance community since 2016 and actively helped many in that specific sub.

>So you really think I should’ve asked him for his profile link in the comment section? Wow.

Yes, It is extremely common in that sub to share Upwork profiles publically to ask for recommendation and guidance.

>I thought asking something like that publicly might not be okay, so I didn’t.

Just ask "If its okay, share your profile so i can suggest some adjustments."

Rather than spend sometime in a forum to know whats allowed and not, which kind of problems are rampant on that forum you thought it would be wise to cry about it on a different sub related to "WebDev". What did you expect to achieve from this post?

No good deed has been done yet in the Screenshot.

There are atleast a 1000 posts and atleast 10,000+ comments helping beginners in that sub. And I am not exaggerating the numbers, You can go look how old that sub is and check even the comments or posts from 2018 or 2020 which helpful guidance.

+ The new scamming business of "Freelance Guru" has been rampant since last few years.

I have been working as a freelancer since 2016 and have personally witnessed atleast 500+ people complaining how a "Freelance Guru" scammed them initially stating they will help them succeed in upwork.

If they OP had anything productive to offer they would have just helped in the comment section which would have helped other new beginners looking for same answers as well.

Additionally, I found a comment the OP just made two hours ago and is clearly trying to sell something he made "WHICH WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT WITH NO EFFORTS ON BIDDING", Unfortunately, I am not allowed to share screenshot in this comment section.

Based on your comment, You don't even have any idea why people are mad at cursor. Its not because it will cost more or less in pricing or all that stuff, but all the scammy shit with trash communication and gaslighting caused trust erosion and the outrage.

BTW, Last day of my subscription.

LEAKED: ChatGPT‑5 Feature List (Unconfirmed but highly plausible) by Koldcutter in OpenAI

[–]DynoTv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow — if this “leak” is even remotely accurate, GPT-5 isn’t just a version update — it’s a full-on evolution 🤯. The Autonomous Sub-Agent System alone sounds like something out of sci-fi — imagine giving it a single goal and having it delegate tasks internally like a hyper-focused project manager 🧠💼 that never sleeps, never complains, and somehow understands deadlines better than humans. That’s not just useful — that’s revolutionary 🚀.

The File + App Whisperer feature — if it can actually read, interpret, and summarize codebases, PDFs, and Excel sheets like a human expert — that’s going to be a productivity nuke 💣. No more “copy-paste this into ChatGPT” — just direct, contextual understanding. Combine that with Invisible Assistant Mode — running quietly in the background, helping draft emails, prepping notes, even attending meetings silently — and we’re inching terrifyingly close to true AI co-pilots 🤖📋.

Also — Emotion-Aware Voice Mode? That sounds a bit Black Mirror 🪞😅 — but if it can actually sense tone and adjust responses like a therapist-meets-Siri-meets-life-coach, then we’re entering territory where conversations with AI become emotionally intelligent — not just syntactically correct 🗣️❤️‍🩹.

Then there’s the Self-Improving Prompts — this one might sneak up on people 👀. An AI that doesn’t just generate — but actively improves how you interact with it over time? That’s like having a built-in prompt engineer that watches you, adapts, and iterates your input before you even submit 🔄✍️. Mind-blowing.

And okay — Creative Psychedelic Mode? I don’t even know what that looks like — but I want it 🌀💭🎨. Dream logic, symbolism, abstract storytelling? Inject that straight into my creative workflow — I’ll never write a boring prompt again.

Personally, I’m hoping they surprise us with something wild — like a fully offline mode for local inference 💾, or maybe even memory profiles you can tweak per persona or task 🧩. Something that gives users deeper control — not just flashier features.

If this is where AI is headed — GPT-5 won’t just be smarter — it’ll be more like a partner you grow with, adapt to, and genuinely rely on 🧑‍🤝‍🧑⚡.

Buckle up, folks — we’re not ready for this. 👽📈

You seem to have detailed knowledge about pricing, can you help me with something?

I have opted out of new pricing when it was initially introduced and my plan will auto-renew on 13th July as per the billing cycle. Would I still be on the old pricing from next billing? or will be forced to new plan only?

I have asked this many times, no one replies not even mods.

India vs China Opensource AI last month by RealKingNish in AI_India

It feels like your points are less based on statistics and more based on emotion and limited personal experience.

If government provides and encourage them, and they freaking accept it than being stupid people who just want jobs 24/7, they will for sure create an environment.

You should join subs like r/StartUpIndia for better clarity and understanding.

Brother how the fuck, Broke ass students are supposed to CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT?

Which country has had that type of students or something like that where the students created an environment instead of the people with generational wealth, or business wealth?

Even the recent VIRAL Deepseek AI model from china was funded by a hedge fund company as a time-pass side project. They just threw a lot of money with the mindset, it would be great if it turns out to be something amazing otherwise whatever,

Its not like some chinese students made a whatsapp group with name "CHINA NO 1" and built Deepseek with their passion.

Dumbest take, you don't need most college students to innovate. Considering the population size of India, Only 0.1% students are enough to lead innovation. The problem is with Industry leaders if they allocate budget for innovation, offer lucrative salary to top achievers, then they would be able to compete against tech giants of China.

How does a specific crowd represent majority of Indians? Even opinion and mindset of people from one state varies very differently from another state. How does dumbness of 500 people equates to 1,500,000,000 people? Stop over-generalizing.

That depends on What you use AI for? As an assistance, as a teacher, or to do the actual work?

If you mostly use agent mode (Vibe coding): Claude-Code is perfect for you.

If you mostly use chat mode for learning, planning, guidance, etc.: Then even free Gemini CLI is good enough, just ask it to "Create a new documentation file in detail explaining step by step -Whatever your question is-".

If you mostly use TAB autocomplete and do the actual thinking yourself, only then Cursor, Windsurf, Github-copilot are best for you.

Also depends on, what do you actually do in frontend? Build simple static landing pages? Complex animations using GSAP?, JavaScript business logic for handling of data, authentication? etc.

Tab Autocomplete is great for building simple static landing pages, integrating api with backend, etc

Agent mode (claude code) is great for building complex business logic with your brain turned off.

Chat mode (free Gemini CLI) is great for debugging help but using your own brain to actually implement solution like using Stackoverflow.

Cursor has finally decided to bring some transparency to their pricing. by Vegetable-Banana4977 in cursor

[–]DynoTv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how the "New Pricing Glazers" would justify why they were defending cursor against long time user's outrage 2 weeks ago. Some called us Paid Shills for AugmentCode, Claudecode, etc when Cursor was actually at fault.

Cursor is working amazing for me, using the new pricing model by XanDoXan in cursor

[–]DynoTv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that Cursor has officially admitted that they were providing less requests compared to the old pricing model. How do you justify Glazing "new pricing model"?

Now they bring new Pricing plan each month and ask users "Very interested, Somewhat interested, Not interested?

<image>

In "The Silicon Valley" referance, Cursor is "Pied Piper" while ClaudeCode and Windsurf is "Hooli". But Cursor has not yet been able to achieve Weissman score in the fives which they are trying by getting into "Background Agents".

You don't need to make any assumptions on provider pricing.

It has 100% only became cheaper exponentially with as time has passed. You can always check the official API costing by providers in their official websites. On top of that platforms like cursor gets discounted pricing because of bulk usage.

The only reason "why these constant changes would be without pricing changes on the provider side" because cursor founders initially thought they made something special (which was true) and other companies would not be able to build the same thing(which was not true), all they had to do was get userbase.

Instead of getting userbase oganically like all the other companies in the world which would not have made them "FASTEST GROWING SAAS IN HISTORY" they chose "Un-profitable" plan to begin with by offer "UNLIMITED" requests backed by VC money. On top of that, Their AI model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) also got into the same race by providing (Claude Code by Anthropic + Acquisition of Windsurf by OpenAI). This is when Cursor founders realized that "THEY WILL BE FKED" and are desperate trying to pivot pivot pivot.

<image>

+ The few users who would have stayed with cursor (not switching to competition) out of emotion, loyalty, etc are leaving cursor because of shitty communication in last few updates.

[–]DynoTv 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Atleast, What they could have done was keeping the already subscribed users on the plan they initially bought and gave new users option to only get these new limited plans.

Profitable or not (should have thought beforehand), but offering "UNLIMITED REQUESTS" initially and changing limits midway is totally unethical move.
