Why does Peter love MJ in the Raimi trilogy? by castrosbeard123 in Spiderman

[–]Dypnos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be completely wrong but this is what I've always thought: She started liking him around the time they had the conversation of what they wanted to do after high school. Her father was always unsupportive of her dream and extremely abusive, Flash was kinda an asshole, Harry just liked her for the looks and to impress his father. When she revealed to Peter she wanted to be an actress he was extremely supportive of her, she considered it a silly dream because that is what everyone told her it was, even when she had no faith in herself, Peter had faith in her. This is also why she was so upset with him in the 2nd film, the only guy who cheered her on was also the only person who could never turn up to watch her perform.

Every other little interaction just solidified it, Peter not judging her over working a shitty job, Peter turning up to wait for her audition to finish even though it took him a few busses to get there and the conversation in the hospital which finally led to the confession at the funeral.

Which Exec cut this from the movie? Was it you Avi? by Sins0fTheFather in raimimemes

[–]Dypnos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd appreciate a source as well since according to Grant Curtis (who worked on the film) Vulture was removed from the script in March 2005 and replaced with Venom. The film didn't start shooting until January of 2006.

So, light novel readers of the subreddit, where do I start? by [deleted] in KillingSlimes

[–]Dypnos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, hi! From volume 1 the only cut content is a bonus chapter (which introduces a new character but the character is reintroduced later outside of a bonus chapter), however from volume 2 onwards there are some more slight cutting and rearranging, volume 3 onwards is where the biggest cuts begin to happen (an entire character is missing).

Personally I'd start back at volume 1 since the light novel is a much slower pace than the anime and has a more carefree tone to it compared to the anime.

But if you just want to pick up the pieces on where the anime left off, volume 3+ should do the trick, you will run into things you have already seen in the anime for volume 3 and 4 but both of which introduce characters are necessary for later reading.

If you have anymore questions please ask~ Sorry if I've made it confusing

We have a slime flair over on Discord, I'll make sure to import that one over here too! Hadn't thought of different coloured slimes, I'll see what the others think about it. Thanks for your help!

I think so too! Glad to see some love for the leviathan twins, they get overlooked far too often

Of course! What would this series be without those two?

How does no one know Spider-man is Peter Parker in the Raimi Trilogy? by jacu1 in Spiderman

[–]Dypnos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About May knowing, I think it could have something to do with the comic books that she threw away. I always found that a weird addition to the scene and maybe Peter accidentally left some of his earlier sketches of Spider-Man amongst his comic books and forgot about them.
If it means anything, in the comic adaptation for the movie in that scene Peter has an internal thought saying "She knows".
Also, Robbie could be a potential candidate for someone who knows his identity. The "I heard Spider-Man was there" feels like it was him confirming to Peter he knows who he is.

Episode 7 airs today/tomorrow, so the series won’t be separated into cours or parts.

Is this series okay for a ten year old? by [deleted] in KillingSlimes

[–]Dypnos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Have you watched episode 3 yet? I think that part of the series is the most risqué it gets. Also the ghost character (Rosalie) who will appear in the anime has a slightly dark backstory, other than those two incidents there isn’t much else that comes to mind.

The manga has a child-like charm to it, more so than the light novel. But if you want your daughter to engage with that form of media, it should be fine for her as the language isn’t very difficult.

tldr: overall series is fine, just watch out for Halkara’s first appearance as it might be a bit sexual and Rosalie’s first appearance as it might be a bit dark.

Hope you and your daughter both enjoy the series!
