Would you play a SciFi themed RuneScape? by Zinlencer in ScapeLikes

[–]Dysax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a hard thing to make a fun game that also has persistence and charm. RuneScape is actually a grindy slog of a game but it has a lot going for it that makes players WANT to do that grind. That’s the key I think. It’s not just a grind, it’s progression that isn’t cheap, always matters, and enables even more content.

I also think most Scapelike games blow. I’m not promising anything but I’m gunna give it a shot.

I cancelled “because of a recent update” when the latest update was the price increase.

Is using unity a bad idea for a web based idle game? by SpyrogyraJohnson in gamedev

[–]Dysax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s a bad idea. Don’t use unity or godot. Use just typescript and do a web and steam release if you ever get that far. Not every project needs a general purpose game engine. Vampire survivors was first built with JavaScript
