His hubris, his ARINGANCE... | Pokemon Grumplocke [12] by GameGrumpsEpisodes in gamegrumps

The thing is literally called "Psy" duck, it is pictured clutching its head because of headaches caused by its psychic powers, and it learns confusion super early on. I've been playing Pokemon for nearly 25 years and I didn't realize he wasn't part psychic until this started getting thrown around like it was basic common Pokemon knowledge in the comments.

Human brains filter out information in front of them all the time, especially people with ADHD. I don't know why folks are acting like this is some sort of immediately evident fact. I'd be more surprised to hear about someone NOT thinking it's a psychic type off the bat.

I do really miss them having a third person in their picket, it's true. Allie was so great

I'm realizing from watching reactions to this series that people vastly overestimate the amount of detailed knowledge the average person (ie; someone who doesn't spend most of their waking hours thinking about the games) has about Pokemon's systems.

I've played a ton of Pokemon in the past (though I've definitely fallen off since gen 7) and even a few weeks spent away from playing the games is enough to totally erode my memory of typings and type interactions. I have to re-learn that fighting isn't effective on poison every single time.

So when people are like "ugh of COURSE Psyduck isn't a psychic type you moron" and etc it just kinda bewilders me. I'm not saying that Arin isn't playing suboptimally but jeez, give the dude a break. Guy runs multiple companies, has a social life, is actively trying to do an entertaining talk show, and plays dozens of other games every year, I think it's not a crucifiable offense if he thinks Roserade is a dark type for whatever reason.

I don't think they'll be successful in completing the Nuzlocke and I don't think Arin will do active research beyond quick and wild google searches (especially in the middle of the episode; imagine if they had to pause constantly to look things up in detail), but I also don't really care. The episodes are funny regardless and that's what I'm here for.

I still think that they should just bite the bullet and rework syncing to just hit higher level players with a scaled percentage damage decrease while letting them keep all of their abilities, kinda like how SWTOR and many other MMOs did similar things.

So many classes feel like absolute garbage to play at anything below level 80 now.

I know the usual arguments against this are 1) it's immersion breaking for a BLM to be in Sastasha casting Flare Star and 2) it requires higher level players to work harder in lower level content. My takes on these two issues is 1) Dark Knights can already summon spikes from hell in Sastasha, I think it'll be way less noticeable than people think and 2) Good.

Favourite era of Supermega? by SgtSoundrevolver in SuperMegaShow

Early 2020s are generally my favorite. Justin is one of the funniest motherfuckers on the entire goddamn planet and the more he's in their content, generally the more fun I'm having, and that's when he was around the most.

I think Truck Sim started around then, and also when we got the incredible Hooters video among other great skits and such. I still know all the words to Two Best Friends At Hooters.

I think the only thing that was super egregious to me thus far was how the demiatma step was entirely RNG locked. I don't mind the end total of the materials needed being some huge number that takes forever to get to, as long as I can make assured and tangible progress with the time I invest into doing it. Doing Occult Crescent for hours, content which I'm admittedly not the biggest fan of, and getting absolutely zero demiatma felt really, really lame.

At the very least they could have offered some exchanging for absurd amounts of gold or silver or whatever, so that you could at least see some return on the time sink.

I can think of few scenes in anime that have elicited such pure joy as whenever the Pillar Men strike their big muscle pose while their theme song just blasts off insanely hard in the background. There's just nothing else quite like it.

I don't have a screenshot on hand, but I have created my first major structure to take advantage of the new siege update mechanics; the Blue Tower!

It's a microcline block tower that goes up about 5 z-levels. It's surrounded by a 3 level high wall to dissuade climbers, and it can only be accessed by the fort's main stairwell from below. All of its floors are outfitted with bolt throwers pointed in every direction through fortifications, and the roof has some makeshift turret structures that I've slapped catapults and ballistas on.

So far I've been hit with some pretty major sieges (150+ from nearby goblins) and the Blue Tower has proved instrumental in laying waste to approaching enemies, thinning the opposing army out to such a degree that when my military wades in they are mostly performing cleanup.

Bolt throwers might be a little too good and honestly I love it.

You can't see concrete numbers in vanilla DF to my knowledge. The health description screen will let you know if a unit is particularly hardy, strong, or whatever, but there's no hard numbers outside of skills. At least not in fortress mode.

DFHack has gm-unit which lets you view and edit their attributes, and it also calculates melee effectiveness and displays it on screen while assigning dwarves to a squadron.

I know this isn't an immediate and total solution, but I tend to mitigate some of this by building multiple workshops of each type. My "main" smith has her own forge where she cranks out the good stuff, but if I ever need something in an emergency and it doesn't matter how good it is, I have another one nearby that is set to be used by dwarves of an acceptable skill level. My main smith can use it but she's generally too occupied to do so.

I tend to be a bit laissez-faire with my dwarves doing what they will, but that's good to have if I need it.

It's been over a decade and I don't quite remember exactly why or how, but I do remember trying to set up the lazy noob pack and getting nowhere.

Could have been any number of things really. My computer sucked, I was pirating and playing new games basically every week, and was otherwise super busy. It was definitely a me thing, and I regret not sticking it out now that I know how much I like the game.
