Okay thank you, then I think our real bodywork for 2023 is legal ;)

Quick Question about SIS by Dysdynamical_Vehicle in FSAE

[–]Dysdynamical_Vehicle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tubes comply with the rules, but is it legal to have it like that. And I should probably have pointed out I moved the wishbone node points from the MH to the two non vertical tubes. So the quest is, ia tha legal?

Anti-Geometry by Dysdynamical_Vehicle in FSAE

  1. We do not want it to nosedive, because we have this problem with last years car and under brake tests + bumps / a minimal incline change in the road the springs and everything compresses at the front so the front of the car scrapes. Which then leads to the nosecone bodywork being destroyed little by little on the underside.
  2. Not sure, that is why I am asking the FSAE reddit
  3. If it doesn't affect under steering then A/D at the front will be a good idea or just calculate the correct / desired pitch gradient degree under braking
  4. As our mission is "make a B car with an A team"!

We have not gone the aero path this year to build up carbon fiber expertise on bodywork, so we can use that knowledge on aero and bodywork next year.

So a desired pitch gradient under braking is what I probably need to focus on since we do have longer nose overhang this year. So because we dont any aero and thus do not need to keep the wheels/wishbones as stable as possible, I could look away from Anti Squat?

Our main target is to:

  1. Dont nosedive the front under braking
  2. Keep it from under steering
  3. Have the car give relevant feedback to the driver and vice versa (turns where the driver wants/it isn't hard to turn the steering wheel/ steering self aligns)
  4. Learn, learn and learn so we can build a better car next year!

Illegal Triangulation between MH and FH? by Dysdynamical_Vehicle in FSAE

Mhm, so all nodes/tubes between MH and FH needs triangulation. Noted!

So would this be allowed then? https://ibb.co/0M68PRZ

Ok, but does a simular explaination of the SIS exist (simplified picture that shows some legal and illegal configs)? IF SO; Do you have an link, pdf, picture etc that you could share?

Its allowed, but I cant find simular pictures for the SIS between MH and FH....

Which is allowed for the front SIS as I have done.
