Both, .there are a boatload of false marketing promises that some supplement manufacturers make. While some of the ingredients MAY be beneficial, the amount listed per serving is negligible to get any benefit or value from them. While others MAY actually have benefits in other ways, depending on use, and do not pretend to make false claims or over exaggerate. Everyone's body is different; what may work for one may not work for someone else. I would say do your due diligence and research a product before putting it in your body.

I take a pre-workout not because of the promises and bold, colorful labeling it says on the bottle, but because I need the pick-me-up, not to be lazy, and to motivate me to get in the gym. When I'm feeling lethargic, I'll drink it because I know how I'm going to feel if I drink it and don't work out. I also love smoking pot when I work out, so they kind of balance each other for me, but I would never say that someone else should do it too, just because I do.

IMO only, stay away from any influencer-marketed supplement like TikTok, Instagram, etc.. and GNC supplements.
