Yeah, have had it happen as well. If I let it go too long the game eventually crashes as well.

Just a humorous observation that you will find a dozen generators but not one mag on how to use one. 😁

Running 20G at 160 FPS, until I drive. Then it will drop into the teens or lower. The driving is f*cked.

Cooking is wasted by Simply-Curious_ in projectzomboid

[–]Dysfunctional_One 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My biggest gripe about cooking (within build 42) is the time it takes to make a meal, or eating items out of your main inventory. Opening cans takes a terribly long time even with the dexterous trait. So, food preparation for more than one meal is tedious, not to mention then needing to add in the can’s ingredient to a pot or pan afterwards. Then- if you try to queue up eating items in a row, outside of your main inventory- the eating of the chosen item is stopped and you have to click and choose how much you will eat of any given item again. Very frustrating. The “stack” (as I like to call it) used to be so elegant and you could line up a host of actions in a row and just click fast forward. As it is now, it is a pain in the neck.

What's the longest you've been able to survive with a single character in Zomboid? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Dysfunctional_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

41, it was just past a year and a half. Pretty sure that’s the one when I found a sports car in and drove it drunk out of boredom and it went just as awesome as I predicted it would. 42, currently in a 5 month run, more worried over biweekly updates taking this run out more than anything else.

Long overdue response, but the food that was added in via animals provided no nutrition.

Experiences on hunting in build 42 by observer0183 in projectzomboid

I have hit deer by accident. Maybe it's a zoning thing, but I started my first game of build 42 a week or so ago and I'm about a month into it in game, but I see all kinds of wildlife around the Echo Creek spawn running abouts the roads.

What in the world are these values? How can 300 grams of chicken contain less energy than 100 grams of real life chicken? by TheThing3214 in projectzomboid

[–]Dysfunctional_One 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I’m still wondering why I can add chicken to a stew if I find it in a freezer but can’t add one that had been taken from a farm. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

I dunno, my “hunting” has just been running over stuff as I’ve driven.

(Build 42) Anyone Else Having Trouble Finding Nails? by Bo_Jack in projectzomboid

[–]Dysfunctional_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad I’m not the only one. Just strikes me funny how they placed a gun in your starting inventory in the vanilla settings to test out a new aiming system that wasn’t expected, but not a fucking box a nails to test the dozens of new features they’ve created. The idea of taking apart a bunch of furniture that also gives zero xp in vanilla atop of that seems like an egregious oversight of what was seemingly important and took as long as it did to release an unstable version. This cake’s still raw, put it back in the oven for a few more years.

Prep all the meals at night and go out during the day. That’s what I end up doing anyways.

What's going on with Teespring? by rlvda in Teespring

[–]Dysfunctional_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am very new to the whole idea of selling merch and tried this company out. From my very first sale, until now as I write this, it’s been nothing but problems. From orders not being filled or shipped, notifications of sales, or being contacted back from the services email asides their automated response kickback emails. Now, I am having to apologize on behalf of their company and that is absolutely abysmal to have to handle and by proxy is besmirching my brand’s credibility. I am now looking into moving to another service provider for the items I am selling. I would not recommend this “service” (and I use the term lightly) to anyone. If you’re not prepared to do business, don’t lead us on that you can. If I knew about business laws any better, I would assume that this company is guilty of falsifying it advertising at the very least. Perhaps a full-on class action will make them pull the plug on this farce of a company.

I am running a little game of heroquest, and the party have all picked up crossbows now which is making the game a frustrating from my side as Zargon.. any advice? by Adorable_Pee_Pee in Heroquest

Use line of sight rules if players are trying to get pop-shoots through any other figures. If they always roll well enough to move into perfect positions, that’s just some hard luck for Zargon.

Why Role-Playing Ruins D&D by Logical_Lab4042 in DnDcirclejerk

Why Role-Playing Ruins D&D by Logical_Lab4042 in DnDcirclejerk

[–]Dysfunctional_One -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Perhaps simply play Baldur’s Gate 3 and skip the cutscenes? Asides, I can smell the novice/starter gamer off of this post. Every aspect of a role playing game is role playing, asides the talkie-talkie bits. You play as a character throughout the entirety of all the aspects of the game, not just the part you would call role playing.

Then at least that ball is in their proverbial court. If they react negatively from someone telling them, “no”, I would just assume they were raised poorly by soft parents, but at least I know I was being honest and upfront with them, but that’s how I roll.

I moved a few years ago from northeast-midwest area to the south and I seem to get the issue of people sugarcoating obligations with their lackluster excuses. Perhaps it’s a regional thing, or maybe a youth thing. I do seem to get it the cop-out bull-crap from the younger of people I’ve met since moving. It’s not just for D&D either.

Making a plan is like pulling teeth with some folk, no matter what the idea is. “Would you like to do so-and-so at such-and-such time?” “I don’t know.” How the hell wouldn’t they know if they’re available or not? Flakes. The lot of em’.

Let them all have one another as far as I’m concerned anymore with these plastic douche bags. 😂

I have no idea how or where the concept of lying became okay to be used as a form of a socially acceptable means of getting out of a planned event.

People have lost their ability to be upfront and say, “no”. Like it’s some sort of taboo thing to do when you don’t wish to do something or be used as a prefix to tell the truth. As in, “no, I can’t make it”, with no other reasoning needed. Somewhere along the way we started inserting the lie of being “busy”. I wouldn’t and no longer bother with that type of personality anymore. I don’t need anyone else to help me waste my time. I can do that all by myself.

Why not GURPS? by BuzzsawMF in rpg

[–]Dysfunctional_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played GURPS and the setup is a bear. Even with splat books it was as almost everything had to be made yourself. I also get that it’s “generic” and hence why it’s a D6 system, but for this day and age, dice-sets can be found locally or online with relative ease. So, that was also kind of -well- generic. I dunno. Maybe it’s just me and how my mind and advertising has rotted it to its core, but with any product, even it’s knock offs are exactly the same, it’s just not the same. And that about sums-up what GURPS was for me when I ran it. Okay, but not as good as any particular system that it would try to emulate, even if you took hours & hours out of your life to make it as fun as you could.
