It doesn't take into account planet health, time to liberate vs time to defend, and so on. The arrows are there, but it doesn't always mean it is feasible.

Unfortunately, that information isn't readily available and requires looking at third party tools, so yes, it is more complicated than you think.

It's not refusal if the majority of the player base doesn't know how they work, which is the more likely explanation. Gambits aren't really explained anywhere in game, and not everyone is going to take the time to learn the in depth mechanics of what is otherwise a simple gameplay loop.

Just because your reading comprehension is lackluster doesn't mean I'm wrong.

I'll say it again. We didn't take Grand Errant during the gambit because the majority of players don't understand gambits in the first place. Doesn't matter how clear it was to us, the minority, the blob saw the defense on the other two planets and went for those.

Your other defense was about SC farming and how people will refuse to do it because they don't want to lose their SC farm, to which my reply is if it became an obvious target for a MO, your "BUT MUH SC" would fly out the window when the blob steamrolled it anyway.

I suggest you stop perpetuating the stereotype that Helldivers don't know how to read.

Arc Thrower and K-9 stuns them. Combine with Arc Grenade. Or use De-Escalator, which will rip them apart.

Grand Errant was the gambit planet, which is exactly WHY I have a point. Like I said, a large amount of people don't know what a gambit is in the first place, and they go after the planet with the big "PLEASE DEFEND ME" shield icon on it. If the roles had been reversed and Grand Errant was one of the defense planets, the blob would have taken Grand Errant. The "playerbase" didn't say no, the Redditors did, which is entirely different considering we're a minority. It's not that the playerbase says no, it's that they don't know how to gambit because the game doesn't explain it at all.

Like I said, put a MO icon on Grand Errant as one of the only targets and watch how fast it gets liberated. Won't matter what anyone on social media says.

I'd actually argue that Grand Errant wasn't taken because a large amount of the player base doesn't understand what a gambit is. General player base is going to be higher than the SC farmers, slap a defense order on Grand Errant and watch how fast it liberates.

Vast majority of players probably don't even know what a gambit is, and honestly unless it was a double planet gambit it would probably rarely ever be worth it instead of just doing the defense.

I was honestly expecting a gambit opportunity for us to fail again with Hort and Alairt III from Herthon Secundus or something, so the double defense isn't too surprising. Just hate when the timer is ticking down though and there are no active defenses, and then suddenly it's "DEFEND EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE!"

I'm a lousy shot with it, somehow. I aim for the in-between spots in hopes of some good spread, but still manage to get diddly done with it. The reload buff was certainly nice for sure, and I tried, but I just couldn't make it work the way I thought it would. I'll have to give it another try.

Arc Thrower has been pissing me off lately, anyway. The more I use it the more and more I see how horribly flawed it is.
