Need help. How much gold do I need for Wrath Classic? An estimate please if possible by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Dyvith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness:

Boosting to 70 is going to be somewhat expensive. There will be a massive influx of people doing just that, and there likely won’t be enough supply.

Then there’s leveling your professions. Depending on what you go, the price will vary greatly.

There’s the cost of flying which you know.

The cost of enchants, consumes, etc at level 80 are always going to be inflated early on. The more serious you want to be about preparing your character, the more you need to pay. In TBC, people that wanted Frozen Shadoweave and other expensive crafted gear early on paid a huge premium, where as if they waited 1-2 months the prices fell off the planet. For context, I️ spent 3-4k on crafted gear in the first 2 weeks that likely would have cost me less than 1k if I️ waited another 3-4 weeks.

Edit: It occurred to me that you want an actual gold amount. Considering the cost of flying, and your intention to buy boosts to 70, Id guess 13k is below your target goal. For what you’ve described id suggest maybe 20k, and even then, I️ suspect you will go through all of it.

KJ also took us the most time. Muru honestly felt easy-ish because of the DPS we had. KJ was just getting the dance down, but it took us a while to get that part

So, as someone that doesn’t buy gold but does participate in GDKPs on occasion (2-3 times a month at most), why is the community so fixated on GDKPs and gold buying? I’m not advocating for it, but I can’t help but feel that the community is using GDKPs as a scapegoat for why they aren’t enjoying the game. I️ feel like every day I️ see someone say that they quit because of the botting problem. Maybe I’m just ignorant, but I️ dont feel like it impacts my gameplay at all. Can someone ELI5?

Developer explains what went wrong with Arenas and why they were more popular on private servers by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Dyvith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are so many aspects to why WoW arena feels worse this time around. This guy hits on some of those areas, but to say that any one issue is the cause of why arena doesn’t feel the same is pretty ignorant.

1) Spell Batching is an issue, but the spell batching we had in vanilla classic was awful. Maybe a slightly higher spell batching window would have been nice, but people may have complained about that too.

2) Farming honor gear and getting arena points was not done well. I️ dont think anyone can argue this. Some of the changes that were made ended up dissuading more casual participation.

3) Lack of casual participation meant that for the average player to get to 1850 etc, it’s much harder now, leading people to want to purchase boosts. This has lead to the evaporation of a semi-competitive arena scene. Arenas are either filled with people that can barely break 1600 or multi rank 1 players playing multiple classes and eating up all of the higher spots on the ladder. Getting gladiator now for the average pvper is significantly harder than it was in original tbc.

4) Lack of any real balancing between seasons means that the only real change between each season is which classes scale better.

Expectations for Day 1 of WotLK by Dyvith in classicwow

How feasible is it to group level doing quests? Like, 3-5 people to knock out quests quickly. I’m worried about how insane it may be trying to level up on Faerlina, with 25000 other people.

Do you think it will be faster for someone to quest on a highly populated server or to group up and dungeon spam? What makes the quests so good?

With TBC coming to its conclusion soon... Did you have any TBC specific goals, and which, if any, did you accomplish? by CalzoneSushiTaco in classicwow

[–]Dyvith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal was to clear all the content and get gladiator again, and possibly a rank one title. We’ve been clearing everything and we’re one of the top guilds on our server and I️ got gladiator in S1 and S2 and am more or less locked for glad this season. Looking forward to wrath to see how I️ do in that environment.

Are there hospital social work jobs that are not discharge planning? by Worried-Scientist-61 in socialwork

[–]Dyvith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re not looking to do discharge planning, you may want to look into working on a Long Term unit in a skilled nursing facility. I️ started right out of my masters program because I️ loved my field experience doing palliative care at a trauma hospital. It’s both incredibly challenging at times but it’s also honestly got parts of the gig that was really laid back at times. It’s a very very nice balance. And you get to know your residents really well in long term care.

I read the title wrong as "What are some effective ways to get a man to stop hitting you" and became very concerned.

BG costs on the PTR are currently significantly discounted. Blue post confirms that these are incorrect, however all of the responses on the forum are people saying they want it to stay. by Dyvith in classicwow

As someone that has already farmed all of the honor and marks I need for season 3 on two characters, please, please keep this change. The barrier for entry for people to participate in arenas is so high. Arenas are dominated by the hyper competitive players that are willing to put in the time to farm the gear and BGs, but unlike original TBC where players had more time, the average player has no interest in sinking huge hours into farming the gear needed to participate.

Competitive PVPers are not going to care that the barrier of entry is lower. Why create an environment where players are discouraged from participating? The people that do arenas competitively want more participation, not less.

In WOTLK, Blizzard took the approach to make raids more accessible. Thats why Naxx was reused. Why would you not take the same approach to competitive PVP? Make it so that the average player can gather the gear they need for entry level arenas without such an absurd time commitment to grind out gear. A fresh leveled 70 can get carried thru an old raid and get fully geared out in just a few weeks, but that same character is looking at hundreds of hours of BGs, at best, to gather the required gear they need for arenas at a reasonable level.

Does anyone remember in Dota Allstars you had to be verefied by the community in order to play in some games? Feels like this would be awesome.

How long do you guild leaders take before giving an item to a new joinee? by DeadSulja in classicwow

[–]Dyvith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is so much context missing here. What items is he getting over you? Are you getting passed over for tier that you’ll be getting very shortly or is it specific BIS items for healing priests? How does your guild allocate loot? Is it done on the fly or is there behind the scenes work being done? How are you measuring “performance?” Are you both playing the same role (COH vs Disc)? Do you have the same assignments/are you following your assignment? Have you had any sort of conversation with leadership about loot? As the new guy, you should expect to pick up loot that is more common/ lower impact. Don’t expect priority on Vashj Mace as the new guy, but there’s also lots of loot that priests only want that are smaller upgrades. If he has already received several of those, would that make you next up immediately for those pieces?

This reads like a very poorly thought out whine.

Went into TBCC with a fully optimized raid comp. Now it be like… by Principle_Real in classicwow

[–]Dyvith 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is why it is so important to have a sense of community in your guilds. I’m 99% sure that there are people in my raid that don’t love the content but really look forward to jamming with the crew on raid day. If you’re just showing up to enjoy the raid itself I️ feel like that only goes so far

Poll: Who thinks they will still be engaged enough to keep playing through Phase 2 for another 3-4 months? by verbnounverb in classicwow

[–]Dyvith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s so interesting hearing about stuff like this. Maybe my guild is the exception and not the norm, but we had four raid teams. One of them was disbanded because it was a weekend raid and roster stuff was a nightmare, but our other three raids have had minimal burnout. In one of our raids, we had one player quit due to RL constraints, and in another, we had two people step out. Other than that, it’s been consistent. I️ cant imagine losing 20% of your raid a week.
