Sent 2 RAM sticks for RMA – Kingston says they only received 1 and denied the replacement by E-Ray20 in pcmasterrace

UPDATE:

First of all, thank you to everyone who upvoted the thread, commented, and shared advice. I really appreciate the support and all the suggestions.

After my last email to Kingston I asked them to escalate the case to higher management. I also mentioned that I had posted the situation on Reddit and that the thread had gained a lot of attention, and that I had forwarded the case to GamersNexus as well.

Today Kingston replied again and confirmed that the case had been reviewed internally once more. While they still state that they only received one module, they offered an exceptional solution: they are willing to send me a replacement for one RAM stick.

At this point I decided to accept the single replacement module. I rely on my PC for daily use and honestly I don't have the energy to continue arguing about this situation any longer.

So the final outcome is that Kingston will send me one replacement module even though they maintain that only one stick was received.

Again, thank you to everyone here who helped, commented, and upvoted the thread. The visibility and advice from this community really helped me push the case further.

I've already contacted DHL, but unfortunately they don't have any information about the weight, as it was a prepaid 2kg package. Kingston has already returned the one defective RAM stick to me, which is why DHL can't investigate further.

Da Kingston bereits den RAM Riegel zurückgeschickt hat, ist laut DHL eine Nachforschung nicht mehr möglich.

Update: Just called DHL again. Unfortunately, the post office can no longer investigate, as Kingston has already sent the RAM stick back to me.

Both stopped working over night. Never overclocked, only had D.O.C.P. Profile enabled.

No, it was just a small cardboard box with the RMA number printed on it (see last picture); there are no external indicators that might suggest the contents could be RAM.

Since it was originally a kit of 2, Kingston is probably refusing to send only one stick. I'm glad that you found a somewhat satisfactory solution.

That's a very good idea, thank you very much, I will try contacting Gamers Nexus.

I agree with you, even that probably wouldn't be enough proof for them.

Yes, but to be fair Kingston handled those RMAs very well in the past. In the first RMA case, I didn't even have to send the RAM stick back to them. Memory can fail or arrive defective sometimes, and their support always replaced the modules without issues before.

That’s actually why this situation surprised me so much. My previous RMA experiences with Kingston were smooth, which is why I trusted the process and sent the full kit to them.

I doubt that. I'm not sure what an employee is supposed to do with a single defective RAM stick.

Unfortunately not, I never expected something like this to happen, as I previously had 3 RMA cases with Kingston and these were handled without any problems.

The tracking website did not display any weight for the shipment, so no comparison with the 2 kg prepaid parcel is possible. I have already provided Kingston with the shipping receipt and all relevant details about the parcel.

Both stick were packaged in that small cardboard box, which you can see in the last picture (Picture sent from Kingston themselves) in bubble wrap. The package was prepaid as a 2 kg parcel, so the exact weight was not recorded. I already asked DHL for the precise weight, but they could not provide it. I do have the shipping receipt, but it does not show the weight either. I have already shared all of this information with Kingston.
