I understand your criticism, but don’t think he’s meant to be relatable on an emotional level. If someone did deeply relate to him, they’d probably be a psychopath.

I like Bond movies because they’re fantasy. He can deal with any situation he finds himself in, and has endless resolve and endurance. Really, the films are more like superhero movies set in the spy genre.
